When is this coming to the UK?

I remember last year it was said to be coming at the beginning of 2019 but I haven't heard anything since.

I've done a quick Google search and some are saying that when it does come in that we will still be able to use paypal instead.

No one knows, but last time I asked eBay, they said everyone will be able to use it. Lately, eBay support has actually been support and they are so nice lol.

Just had an email from ebay speaking about an update to their privacy policy...etc

It also says that the managed payments have started as from now.


Is this managed payments a add on the how it is already?

For example will there be an enforced ebay managed payment as well as a optional paypal payment option?

No ... Paypal is off to pastures new - it will no longer be grazing in Ebays field except for buyers

I can't find much information on the internet about how this is set up.

I've also ready that this is only for business sellers and private sellers can continue with paypal.


Is the set up the same as with PayPal or is it a lot harder?

It's actually a lot less hassle than Paypal but there's no debit card, no stock loans as in Paypal and you cannot use the funds to purchase supplies

Personally I would prefer it to stay as it is but it aint gonna - hey ho

From what I've read I was actually thinking that it looked good as the payments go straight into your bank within a couple of days.

I'm just wondering if setting it up with stealth details will be as easy as it is with paypal.

PayPal no longer returns their fees on eBay orders that are cancelled or refunded as of may 2019.

I am happy to see them go.

Managed payments were introduced last year in the USA has anyone been able to provide any insight form the USA?.

Hi guys. Thought I would give an update as I have successfully been verified. Please note this has quite specific circumstances as I have previously been limited however have managed to open a paypal and ebay account using my full name (rather than the shortened version, eg Timothy instead of Tim as previous account had). This account was only used for buying and would sell on it like any standard seller would (old coffee machine etc). My stealth accounts are my business ones.

I felt like it was worth the risk to use this legit but risky second chance real account to go through the process. Interestingly, when they checked then names it showed up as not matching, even though it was a perfect match. I had to upload a bank statement and that was it, fully verified.

So it would seem that if it doesnt match, they look at a bank statement.

Guys is anyone is also wondering, I have changed my stealth ebay account to my birth name which isn't the actual name I am known by, or officially registered by. My mum decided she wanted to double Barrel my surname but never changed it officially, so actual not known by my birth name. Anyway long story short, I just opened a basic bank account, in my birth name online. No I.D required and it was approved in 10 mins standander. It has to be the basic account though for anyone 16 and over, I was not approved for the other account as a credit check is run and I dont officially exist in the system

Im not asking a question, just advising if anyone has any issues in the UK surrounding bank accounts and names not matching their bank account Santander do not require I.D if registered online for a basic account
