Wait or Sign up before July 15

Apparently my brother read somewhere that theres a chance ebay will do nothing and extend the deadline. As a result hes decided to do nothing until after July 15th. Im worried this might backfire as they may be more willing to approve people who sign up before the deadline. What do you guys think? Of course we're all forced to wait on most of our accounts, but he hasnt signed up on any accounts that were invited. All opinions are welcome.

In my experience, working inside companies partnering with a new company to bring new benefits, it's always easier to have things overlooked the earlier you sign up. After a while, they learn and make "updates" to fix these issues.

I think your brother needs to dig up where he read it, lol. No, but seriously, provide the source of info.

I'd wait as long as possible, ayden has already been around for a few years, submitting early won't make a difference on how they verify you

But from what I know, it's eBay reps processing the applications. While upper management is new to this, imo now is the best time. But hey, that's just my opinion

I'm waiting. The warnings I'm getting from eBay say "if you want to be able to create new listings, then you must register for managed payments". It doesn't say anything about not being able to sell or shutting down the account.

The email says "please Register by 15th July... if you miss the registration deadline, starting from 27/07/2020, we will restrict your ability to create new listings'

I think we will have further opportunity to register, the only reason I would want to do so is to see if it's worth switching the name on registration to one that matches the bank account.

I was paraphrasing...but yeah, that's what mine said too. Well, I don't need to create "new" listings. So I'm not registering until I absolutely have to.

Yep. I don't need to create new listings either, but I think this will also include rolling over any GTC listings. Agree that they are unlikely to ban you indefinitely. You just need to be able to live with no live listings for a while.

I am also confused as to why they would have the 15th as the deadline, but only restrict new listing from the 27th. Would make sense to align the two.
