Best Alternative to PP for Small timers???

Hopefully this can be a definitive thread for a viable alternative to Paypal.
I have seen a couple of services that charge very reasonable transaction fees, but most have a monthly minimum fee of like $30 and up and depending upon how much volume I am doing it might not make sense.

What is the best alternative to use for ebay for accepting small payments?
