Warning! eBay and Skype share credit card details.

I don't think this has been discussed anywhere yet, but remember my thread about me doing a chargeback on my credit card to eBay for the fees they charged me without providing me the services, on a suspended account?

I tried to make a Skype credit purchase on the very same card today and it came back as declined several times. It's not possible since the card has enough funds on it, so I spoke to Skype and the representative told me it was declined because it is "blacklisted" in their database because I had previously done a chargeback to them. They didn't mention to eBay, they just said "to them".

Guess what? I have only ever done one chargeback on this card and it was to eBay. So Skype and eBay are definitely now sharing credit card details. Be careful if you use your credit card on Skype under your real name and under a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name on eBay, it might just get you suspended.

not sure if its been asked but does skype currently link to ebay i have it installed and use it to communicate with some family and friends ? also gumtree is under their banner but i checked their source code and cant find anything ebay related to the code... so im guessing that does not link also

Can't say 4 sure that there is a link BUT since ebay own skype, I no longer use
them. I can not help but think of the days that paypal was not linked to ebay! SI I am not creating any troubles.

Yes, they do. I did a chargeback to eBay with one credit card (one of my first accounts) and it then wouldn't let me use the same card on Skype. When I contacted Skype, they told me it was because the card had been used in a chargeback to eBay.

The fact that they even share credit card details is shocking.
