Default Freaking hilarious, one of my buyers won a SNAD dispute against me without paying.

I love this new Ebay dispute system *sarcasm*.

Buyer claims item not as described and uses an Ebay message to verify his "intention to pay" through Paypal. EBay stated that this intention to pay is sufficient evidence that he paid and actually scolded me for "discouraging him from paying through the EBay website".

I am now on the hook for reimbursement in the amount to Ebay in the amount of the auction valueplus shipping to the buyer. He never paid, period.

Discuss.

EDIT: I already appealed the case on the basis that the item was never paid for. The Ebay messaging system showing "intent to pay" was taken as suitable proof of payment. Appeal denied.

Something doesn't sound right.. How would ebay pay him? And why would you owe Ebay money?

I would give Ebay a call.

Lakeman, are you familiar with EBay's new dispute policy? People can now be re-imbursed directly through EBay without contacting Paypal.

eBay Buyer Protection

I do not plan on paying Ebay anything, and if this is how they evaluate cases in their dispute process going forward, they will be going under sooner rather than later.

Yes I am. No where does it say the buyer will be refunded out of ebays pocket, if they don't pay, and open a SNAD.

I am just speaking out of what I just experienced after receiving my appeal denial because an EBay message expressing "intent to pay outside of Ebay" is supposedly enough to justify payment.

Take it as you will.

Ebay's new "No Fault" resolution process is kinda cool.

I'm suprised some of you more "Savvy" members haven't got partnered with someone and given Ebay a good stinging..

The following does happen and quite regualry...

scenario..

1: i call friend and tell him too list lappy... £5-600
2: I buy.& pay
3: he sends recorded etc.
4: i recieve.
5: i open SNAD hs too be through Ebay.
6: Friend argues the toss, "lappy wa fine buyer can fukc off etc..
7: Ebay refunds me through "no fault"..
8: I have lappy (return too sender) plus £5-600 back
9: Friend has lappy back & £5-600
10 Share as appropiate.

Simples...

Any yip... done it

Sadly, I understand completely, scouse. Only Ebay could invent a system that is completely illogical, unable to be enforced, and allow people to get away with schemes that easily trump anything that occurred when Paypal handled the process.

Indeed--I am a legit seller (with a stealth account ) who is being ripped off by a con-man. Granted, I am not giving Ebay jack squat, but the issue itself I feel is worth bringing to the attention of this community, just as an FYI.

I had two sellers that put an "item not received" dispute in through ebay.

Ebay actually refunded them will the message "as this was not fault of my own, ebay has refunded the buyer in full and no action will be taken against me"

So ebay paid the buyer back and I did not have to pay anything. Needless to say I found this outcome agreeable.

I have the full email if anyone would like the full wording of it.

No they did not file the dispute through Paypal, only through ebay and ebay refunded them!

Here is the full message so you know im serious. I did not have to refund, ebay took the refund i guess from their bottomless pit of avialable funds.

I provided no information at all. Its interesting, anyway here it is:

MC202eBay Resolution alert: We've refunded jimmy*****8754 for 783647583546

Dear ***** ****** (*******@gmail.com)

We contacted you recently to let you know that jimmy******** didn't receive the item 220505615264 Star Wars Force FX Lightsaber Obi-Wan NEW BARGAIN you sold them. As part of our new resolution process, we've given them a full refund.

eBay has covered the cost of the refund, and we won't attempt to recover the amount from you, as this situation appears to have been outside of your control. No further action is needed on your part. We always encourage sellers to work directly with their customer to solve any problems they encounter.

Wow that is crazy! I don't know if this is good or bad to be honest with you. If Ebay is just handing out money like this it makes me wonder what other changes will be coming down the road

I sent the items by Royal Mail first class with no tracking, and I took no action with the ebay dispute as there was no tracking number to prove I had sent the item.

I was expecting to have to repay ebay after the buyer was refunded.

The message at first amazed me, but I wont appeal it lol.
