Default I accept Paypal from my site. Do I have to change the domain?

Guys,

I am happy to chance upon this forums after getting my Paypal account banned indefinitely today. My heart sank after the Paypal CSO told me that I was banned indefinitely and that any new accounts I create will be caught by their system and will be terminated too. I earn my bread and butter on Paypal so at that point in time, I thought everything is over. This community gave me a glimmer of hope.

I think I can pull off creating a new Paypal account.
But the tricky part that I don't believe have been addressed is whether Paypal tracks referer URL/domain.

If I start accepting payment from my site using my new Paypal account, Paypal can technically link the new account to the old suspended account based on referer domain. What is your view on this?

And if I were to go through the huge trouble getting a new domain, should I change the tiny details such as the name of my products and such?
e.g. My item names are actually pretty generic : Invoice #200
Should I change it to something like Order #201 or something like that?

Thanks in advance, guys!

This is really driving me nuts! Darn Paypal !

We need more information to help you with this. Were you using this Paypal account for eBay? What was the reason they banned you in the first place? etc

I don't use this Paypal for ebay.
I use it primarily for receiving payments from my website.

They banned me because of 2 chargebacks, they consider my transactions "high risk".

I thought about setting up another Paypal account under different name & IP using a separate computer that is freshly installed. I just want to know if the referer thing is a problem. Coz I will say 80% of my transactions are from my website domain.
If I use the new Paypal account for receiving payments from the same domain, will it trigger a red flag?

Possibly.

But here's an option for you that just popped into my head...

Let your website submit the form to a NEW website you make, then let THAT website submit to paypal. Easiest way is submit a POST request to a form on the middleware website, then have a little javascript resubmit the data. Would be invisible to the user, and paypal would see all submits coming from the other website. Its what I need to do - just to be safe.

yeah that was what I had in mind before I posted this.
I was weighing alternatives and if I could get away with not using the 'proxy method' that you have mentioned. :-)

Hey Jesse,

Can you tell me more about your experience with a new Paypal account and your website?

I mean Paypal do have the technology to scan referer URL and ban you based on that. But whether they actually do that is a whole different story.
That is why I am sending you this PM hoping that you can tell me your story.
How long did your new Paypal account last with the same referring URL?

Thanks in advance, bro.

Here are some related threads.
They don't really provide a definite answer to this issue but worth a read:

I know what you're experiencing as the same thing happened to me. All you have to do is make a new domain with a different url address and make a new paypal. Thats what I plan on doing.

Philly, you sounded like you are speaking from experience.
Can you please elaborate on why you recommend getting a new URL?

Because paypal may know your old url and therefore may link it.
