Default Does EBay Track ISP When Registering A New Seller Account?

How is everyone. Some questions for the suspension scientists and researchers. Does EBay track your ISP when you register a new seller account? On EbaySucks forum there is an debate on this.

Cashgirl, a member who seem to have good knowlede on the subject, said they only track your ISP service when you register for the first time or change info. She suggested to go to a public place to register to prevent being linked to your previously suspended ISP. She also said that after you successfully create a new account you can log on to your previously suspended ISP, as long as you have a new IP address.

Please give your opinion on this, does Ebay track ISP as well as IP? If so is there a way to register at home, with previously suspended ISP? I guess you can just switch ISP, and get a new ISP. But if that is the case then going to a public place to prevent the ISP issue seem more convenient .

By the way, what is there is suspended users on the public ISP, would the E Fu@kers will suspend you by linking to them as well? Seem rediculous but you never know, with these dumb co@K suckers.

They track the IP every time you log on. And if you go to a public place, how do you know someone didn't get suspended there already as well? Looks like she has no idea what she's talking about.

Yes, i have tried the library route, and just opened a regular account, not even seller and it got suspended instantly. Also, the library browser clears cookies automatically for eash new user, so the has to be certain ip address that are instant suspension.

Accoring to her she meant Ebay track the ISP, basicly if you register at home they can link you to the home address that you register to your ISP. Even if you did change your IP and clear cookies. It seem to make sense that Ebay not only track your IP adrress but also your ISP , is this rumor true?

And what to due to hide your ISP? Seem not possible unless registering somewhere else or change your ISP?

Default How does ebay track you !!!!!

hello all,

i see many are asking as to whether or not ebay can trace you via your ip address and of course the answer is yes.

ebay will suspend your account if they find your computer of having been used by another ebay member whether verified or not and especially if your computer was used by a previous suspended account.

ebay does ot trace your computer via its product licence number and so whether you have been suspended or if you have bought a 2nd hand computer you should always wipe it clean.

change your ip address and when you register, its best if you can have some different details to which you had given ebay or paypal with your previous accounts. i.e if you still have the same bank card then report it lost and have a new one with a diffrent number. also if you have a bt line then phone bt and tell them your having too many nuisance calls and they will change your number for free. also opening a bank account with another bank will help you greatly especially if you intend to sell on ebay.

finally when entering your details upon registering. enter a different house number to your own and then when your account is active you then simply chenge it to the correct number and bobs your uncle.

remember,if you open multiple accounts and use the same computer to access these, then you will find these accounts suspended. finally i would advise to never link your ebay & paypal account. this is what both ebay & paypal prefer you to do because this is how they keep an eye on you so dont do it.

oh btw , keep an eye out for the new uk based online auction site starting in june 2010. castoff . net looks very promising and you should check it out.

regards

They don't ban by ISP. Think about it, if one member from every ISP available around the world gets banned, wouldn't eBay pretty much ban everyone accessing to their website?

EDIT:

Wow, way to bump a 4 year old thread lol
