Default PAYPAL And PERSONAL WEBSITE!

okay so i have a website. i was wondering if paypal would be a good payment method for it. if i get high traffic and alot of funds monthly in the paypal will the paypal be in danger of being limited or anything in that matter?? whats the best method of processing payments?

and also with merchant accounts and the wannabe merchant accounts such as authorize and Mercantec do you have to do taxes for them?

paypal set up as a business account with all its trimmings works OK with websites. However an astute business person would have several payment options. You might consider google, paymate, merchant accounts

As for your last question, tax is payable for any monies earned. You have obligations to the IRS to make payments. It is imperative you have an accountant to assist with taxes. You will have Federal and state taxes to pay. Or face the chance of vacations in unpleasant places

If I can add to this question:

I have a new website with nothing connected to ebay accounts at all.

Been a couple years since I used paypal on a website. Last time I had a business website PP account it was also tied to an ebay account. So when ebay problems came up it effected the paypal from main site as well ... So not clear on how ass faced they get on web stores...

Do the limits and "going slow" rules apply as harshly when not associated with ebay?

I guess the question I have is if i setup a PP business account just for this website can I operate at a higher level with less chance of limitations and issues?

Say maybe 5 or 6k a month? I know if I did that on an ebay account all hell would break loose.

I have other payment options, but a lot of customers ask for paypal and its hard to tell them no. Many still think paypal is the best way to pay.

Thanks

Google Checkout works best with a personal website, you can set up a shopping cart with buy now buttons on your site, its much better than PP
