I would not start selling such things until the account had a minimun 50 positive feebacks and the account was AT LEAST 6 months old

Plus or Minus on the time stated by slapped, but I agree it's a good general number.

Depends a lot on what you intend to be getting paid for. Electronics, wait longer. Handmade quilts, a bit less time should be sufficient.

Timing and money amounts are highly subjective and based on multiple factors. Those factors are not quantifiable, since PP keeps secrets.

When in doubt, wait longer, list slower, and move money in smaller batches less frequently.

There is no hard number that is consistent for every seller.

Co-worker told me about how he just sold some big camera on eBay, new account, buyer paid via Paypal close to 4.2k - he withdrew the next day all of it to his bank account - no limits nothing.

I saw proof - shell-shocking ha. Was last Friday

So the Question is Did your Co-worker Verify his Paypal account With a SSN?

The first sale generally goes through without problem.

Challenge your co-worker to do it again today. See what happens. Have the co-worker list his/her copy of Blade Runner from 1985. Or his/her used P90X and the Ed Hardy hoody they wore when jogging the neighborhood. Or the ceramic hair straightener that may be on the vanity in the bathroom or bedroom.
