Default Pre-paid gift credit cards.

I've been slowly trying to get my head around creating a new stealth ebay account.

I have opened a new bank account. I will open more, but there are other problems with this, as I'm a pensioner.(I'm concerned Centrelink will be alerted)

I'm getting my ISP to change our IP from static to dynamic.

Now I have read the forum about pre-paid gift credit cards, but I haven't found what ones work in Australia.
And if paying ebay fees with paypal is not the thing to do. I would appreciate knowing how other Aussies get around this.

A belated Welcome to the forum!

Well the good news is that you can use entropay
http://entropay.com
Most OZ users & UK users have entropay.
Neat to use: you use your real info to fund entropay and then make the virtual card in a name to match ebay/paypal.
I use entropay for fees as well

Have a read of their site. If you have any questions feel free to send me a pm.

Thanks for the welcome GreenBean.

I was looking at the Entropay site from a link in another thread.

At first I thought it was much the same as Paythroughyournosepal with the fees. But being able to create Virtual Cards, and I assume that you can create as many as needed on the one account for different ebay accounts.

I'm sure there are lots of questions I could ask......

I have been on ebay for a few years and done everything the correct way, so trying to do the stealth thing is a completely different way of thinking.

But I'm a very willing learner and will greatly appreciate any help.

A bit scary is understatement.

Okay, ebay accepts Entropay, for fees. Does it work with Paypal as well?

Now, a phone number, I have a new mobile number, any good?

Or I was thinking of going Voip. Started reading about it today, it's all Chinese to me. But I'm more than happy to be educated. And would appreciate the cheapest option there.

Quick question.
If you only use and accept paypal on your ebay account and use Entropay for this.
Does it matter whether you use your own name, which you have to, for your new bank account.
I did read that the name on the bank account doesn't matter as they only look at the account number and BSB number.

I have found a couple of Australian Toll Free/Phone Forwarding sites.

TelcoWorx
Zintel Free Trial
Might be useful for someone, as I'd rather go the Voip way, well, at the moment anyway.

Anyone with Telstra can get a second number for a low monthly fee, this sounds very promising.

virtualvcard.com.au - these work great!

or in NSW you can go to most Post Offices or 7/11 and buy prepaid VISA gift cards.

Or you can order them online: Gift Cards, Gift Vouchers & Visa Gift Cards from Gift Card Store (if you order more than 2 these guys ring to ask why)

I use the visa gift cards to verify paypal (along with a bank account) and to verify Ebay. I pay fees thru paypal and usually with funds from sales

You cannot recharge the cards so it is a good idea to leave $5 - $10 on the card just incase ebay asks you to re-enter the details to confirm your identity etc.

if the balance is ZERO on the card ebay/paypal cannot verify it

with the pre paid card for stealth accounts does it have to be the same address as the stealth address or the mail forwarding address?

when making a new ebay account, ebay says, on the top bar, just before entering your card details to make a sellers account "this information is for verification purposes etc etc"

Now Woolies has a pre paid Mastercard, and it only costs $2.95 to buy one. You can't recharge them though, but it's better then the $5.50 I'm paying for Virtual CC.

https://www.everydaymoney.com.au/edm...feesandcharges

And looking at the ANZ MySpace Rechargeable cards, their fee is $5.95 and a fee to recharge it. Plus you have to have a MySpace account.

Quote:
How much does it cost? The first time you load money onto your card, there is a Card issue fee of $5.95. A small value loading fee will apply each time you put money on your card.

As quoted by glenmore, they cannot be recharged.

There are actually ones that you can get that ARE reloadable. You just have to look hard for them.

I just use the safeway ones (woolworths).
