Default paypal refunds and vero

Hi guys, im new here and im sorry if someone has raised this topic before. I was selling a few zumba boxsets on the weekend knowing i would get pulled off sooner or later, i managed to sell about 6 in the space of 30 mins! Anyway i got greedy and left the listing on and obviously i got pulled.

The problem is, 4 ppl have paid through PP already and 2 using bank account. I just learnt that paypal is owned by ebay, yes i know im slow! so if they want to continue the transaction (obviously outside of ebay) can i leave the paypal money in my account or should i do a refund and ask them to pay via bank deposit. Im sure ebay will keep track of my PP account and they will know if i havnt refunded the money is this true?

On another issue, if this was the first time i have had a listing violation say using zumba boxsets, but i choose to sell another vero item (on the same account) maybe another DVD set less prone to vero (insanity ) would i just get my listing pulled down again or could they give me a suspension by adding up the violations i have even though they are different vero items.

Also on another note, how does this strategy sound to you guys, If you know your vero item sells well and you know when the best time to post and get most sales. Like an optimum window of opportunity , and you post your item for a few hours on that day, then you cancel your listing after you have made a few sales, hopefully b3fore ebay cancels for you. Does this raise any flags or suspicion?

im sure someone has thought of this before but this forum is so full of info!
i have learnt so much here, great work guys, i hope to stay active in this forum!

The items you are talking about selling are not wise to sell just like the P90X. The rights owners for those videos go after people all the time. As to your question about doing a BIN listing and then pulling it down. While it may work sometimes it won't always work as the VERO companies have people looking for listings all the time. Sometimes it can take up to a week after they report it to Ebay before they will give you the VERO violation. If you get too many violations in a short amount of time your account will get suspended.

They can also look back on items that were sold up to 90 days ago.

Even if you sell, and even if they didn't see it or report it prior to the sale being completed, they can retroactively cancel your item, whereby Paypal will become more trouble to you than if you were limited because your item was pulled while active.

Try testing it yourself. Go into advanced search on ebay. Enter the keywords, then look at all the checkboxes and options. You'll see one for viewing closed listings and you can specify the number of days to go back. Anyone can do it. VeRO does it sometimes.

thanks for the fast and informative replies fellas! much apprectiated
In that case i may have to use Oztion (im from australia) to offload some vero.
But since ebay owns paypal, i read somewhere here that its reccomended to have a separate paypal account for oztion as well?? is this necessary?? If so can i just make another acount using another family member that lives with me, so same address and all, or must i go the full mile and do the whole idenity change and IP change thing.

cheers

Full Mile is the only way to go especially if you already had a strike. Even if you didnt always use fresh info.

After you make a few its not that bad really. And the ip thing is easy to do.

good luck!!!
