Weird as hell suspension email subject line!!
I set-up a clean eBay account last week for my wife's sister for her to sell on eBay some of her own old stuff. I listed an old vase for her last week, for a little over $30 plus around $15 for shipping, the normal price. Well, it didn't sell, so I re-listed it for her today. she then calls me about 2 hours later and tells me that she now wants to sell it for $25 instead of $30. No problem, I log into the account (always checking the IPs, of course) and change it for her to $25. She just about 15 minutes ago called me again and told me she wants to sell it for $30 anyways, instead of $25. I know she changes her mind all the time, not just with things for sale, so again no big deal, I log in again and change the price again to $30.
Just when I log back into my regular eMail account, she calls me again and tells me she received an eMail from eBay that her account was suspended.
I'm like "wtf" and tell her to forward it. Guess what it says? Quote:
Dear USERNAME (email@email.com),
Your eBay account has been suspended. eBay took this action after determining that your account was acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies.
You are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.
Any seller fees that are still owed are due to eBay immediately. eBay will charge any amounts that you have not previously disputed to the billing method that is currently on file.
Sincerely,
eBay Trust & Safety
| And what was even weirder, the subject line said: Quote: 0101010101010101010101HAHAHAHAHAH48924938494898946 78456786578762 | I am not joking. That is the actual eBay suspension eMail subject line. I dont care if eBay reads this or not, the account is dead anyways, so I may as well post it.
But I'm wondering, maybe someone has hacked into the eBay system and is suspending accounts for the fun of it? I doubt eBay would on purpose send suspension eMails with "HAHAHA" in the subject line?
On top of that, why would even eBay suspend an account for listing only an old $30 vase? For changing the price twice maybe? But still, wtf..
