Unhappy Paypal with EIN will eventually get limited

My business paypal account is finally dead, with 4k in reserve.

I opened it probably 2 years ago and never supplied a SSN, I used my business EIN instead and my business name.

2 days ago it got limited and asked for bunch of bs, I guess our volume has gone up quite a bit recently and triggered the flag.

Our sales has been 30k, 40k and 60k in the last 3 months. Very few disputes and all resolved within a day.

So I guess EIN alone is not going to get you very far.

So I sent them all the docs and my ssn, id..etc
And I got back "appeal denied" because my ssn is on another account that is permantely limited.

Oh well.... What do you all think?
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

You can keep pushing but likely 180 days then 4k available to you.

Ah, that's bad.. sorry about that. Once you start upping your sales, PayPal likes to ask a lot of questions. You just have to take things slow or you risk your account(s).

I think I was doing around 80k-100k a month when I had my first SSN request.. that was a few years back though.. a lot has changed since then.

at first they set a 5% reserve on my account, I thought that would satisfy them so they wont bother me much, apparently not in this case.

Default PP Limitations

Is your eBay account still good?

You shouldn't use a PayPal account with that kind of volume going through it anyway. Rates are too high, account can become limited, people lose 4k etc.

If your eBay account is still good, just use a different payment method with it.

But it might not be good for long since it was linked to that limited PayPal account.

Like I mentioned in another post. It is always a good idea not to give your ssn. There is a way around it, you just gotta either submit a stuff... I have done this with 4 accounts already, so I am sure it works. Well, at least with my sales volume of about 8k - 30k.

my ebay account is still good, i also set it up to take credit cards for merchant credit card processing, using their payflow gateway. so the same day my paypal got limited, i revised all my listings to take CC only. but i'm seeing a significant drop in sales.

so in this case, should I have used multiple accounts instead?

Default There are ways to still accept PP

Hey Mike, you can still take PayPal payments and mention it in your auctions. Please PM me for details. It is common knowledge if you read the forums but I rather not re-post it again. The less we talk about ways around things in public, the better.

About 70% down, and we are also seeing a lot less orders on big amount items. We sell stuff from $50 to $2000+. We are getting only smaller orders.

I know.... especially those dumb fvcks low life cheap asses who buy no where else but ebay, it's like they were born to buy from ebay. we contacted some of the buyers which we refunded paypal payments after limitation, they refused to pay with credit cards. they swear Paypal is the safest.

i FVCKING HATE PAYPAL AND EBAY.

Take a look at Other Merchant accounts like CCnow or 2Checkout. they are a Bit more expensive but Buyer can pay with Paypal if they Like to, only thing is you Cannot intergrate it with ebays Checkout System

What do you think would have happened if you put the paypal name in one of your employees name (vice president) then entered his SSN? with the same EIN #

imagine one day microsoft or google make something similar to paypal and ebay

This thread has so much wrong and misleading information. An EIN will not get you suspended from paypal.

What would happen is you would be breaking the law for one. You cannot legally promote yourself as a business with someone elses information that is not actually a partner or has equivalent interest in the company. There goes the info from the wife on that one. She knows here stuff for sure. :D

The other thing is you would be putting the tax burden on your employee that doesn't need the hassle at tax time. Many say, well I will just pay his taxes. That is WAAAAY easier said than done.

As for the OP, that EIN didnt cause anything. You had an old SSN that was listed on an account you either forgot about or didnt mention.
