Default Do some research

something I have begun to do is research my buyers. After i get payment through paypal I usually Google the buyers name/address/city and try get some info. I look to see if that person probably is an employee of the product i sold him, law enforcement, etc. I do this just to be safe.

I do understand that if you deal with high volume this research might take time, but I find it to be very helpful. Any thoughts?

A useful idea if you are delving deeper and deeper into dangerous goods - all the best with you avoiding problems.

Your searches might still fail on the offhand but I don't wish this on you =)

I do this quit often on higher priced items. A real person can be found to match info pretty quickly. Address lookup, facebook, etc will pop up in a few minutes of work... If nothing seems to click I will dig even deeper. It has saved me a couple times. Once had a buyer try the "item not received" scam for $800. Took me less than an hour to find out where he worked. emailed his boss saying I was looking into some internet fraud committed from office computers from "john doe" - Got paid 6 minutes later

I've done that at least 4 times in the last 5 years. Always works. This is on customers that try to get a refund and keep item, not legit returns or lost items naturally. Info that is linked to people on the internet is scary....

Don't tell me your one of the very few lucky ones who get away with listing these with no takedowns whatsoever.

Good advice though I have never really tried it.

No I am not that lucky. I think everyone eventually has a VeRO listing removed. However, VeRO has been kind to me lately
