Default I need help... claiming paypal money

Well, I fudged up on a new PayP account i just setup and never confirmed the email address. So I listed 2 items on Ebay and they sold for $95. Now heres the problem... when i entered my PayP address to receive payments I entered xxxxx@paypal.com instead of xxxx@gmail.com. So the buyer pays and the money is sent to the payp email adress. Now, when i login to Payp to claim the money it says i need to confirm the xxxx@paypal address.

I offered to cancel the transaction with the buyer but he declined. What can I do?

You told him you gave the wrong email address by mistake and he wont help?
That makes no sense. What does he think his advantage is here?
Did you explain that you dont want to cancel sale, just do it under correct email?

I have no idea what his thinking is... I asked him to cancel payment with paypal because i didnt claimit yet ( I am not sure if he can though) but he hasnt.

I just emailed Paypal and asked if they can correct because when i login in I see Claim Money buttom, but after i click it it wants me to verify my xxxx@payp address.

Been there - done that. Don't see why the buyer would not cancel payment. Very weird. In my case, was a low amount so I just made the new paypal shrug.

Can you decline the payment? I've never had this happen but if there is an option to claim it, is there not an option to decline it?

That could be forever to get a reply. You really need to try and make the buyer understand that the email is not yours, you made a mistake, and you simply can not have an @paypal.com email address because you don't work for paypal.

Tell him he has to dispute the payment. It has not gone to you and if he cant understand that he's a loon

Thanks rsot and pod..., POD, I cant decline the payment there is no option for it. I will ask him to request refund through ebay that way it will be easier for me to refund. Then relist

Bloody PayPal. Like this is the first time someone has given a wrong email in error..

DONT get him to do it on eBay. PayPal is faster. If this guy gets all cranky this can hurt you. Keep the sale and get him his item! Keep him happy.
