Default Suspension due to unpaid item strikes

I recently allowed a member of my family to use my Ebay account while I was living in the US for the summer. I returned home to find that they had received 3 unpaid item strikes and my account had been suspended.

Ebay told me that I needed to contact the sellers and get them to remove the strikes. I have done this, offering them compensation for the items which were bid on several months ago. Understandably the sellers are reluctant to help.

Is there any other way around this as the sellers wont remove the strikes against me? Any advice would be much appreciated

No there isn't.

And good. It's buyers like you (and your family) who cause problems for everyone.

Personally, as this is a 99.9% sellers forum, I don't expect you to get much help.

Buy the stealth guide, and you'll be back on in minutes as a buyer.

Sadly for you, meVebay is correct. Another reason why you don't allow other people to play around with your ebay account - family, friends, whatever.

But this forum is geared heavily towards seller activity.

That being said - pull the contact info of the sellers directly and reason with them. Best way to do it if e-mail doesn't work and you care a lot about the account.

Like all sellers, I get annoyed when someone doesn't pay. I've never had someone contact me to get an unpaid item strike removed, but if someone did and offered compensation then I would do it.

E-mail the sellers, and if that doesn't work, see if they have a telephone number so you can try and work something out. In the future, I would suggest that you don't let anyone use your account other than yourself.

Try calling them and telling them that a family member who is a minor accessed your account and didn't realize he was making bids.. They may buy it and cut you some slack if you play it right.

COMPENSATION...

Really? You offered a eBay seller Compensation and they didn't go for it?

Hard for me to believe that any self-respecting seller wouldn't jump at the chance to make some money for a couple of mouse clicks.

My price would be about $10. to remove a item strike if the buyer came at me correctly.

The user stated they tried to fix the issue with the sellers and yet you respond in an insulting manner...Why? I'll never understand why people have to be negative to someone looking or help...

I get so disappointed sometimes when I see negative remarks or responses to people just looking or help...Some must forget where we came from...

The Question Might be: What Exactly is the "Compensation",,,,Maybe the "compensation" should be Increased,,,,,, A Simple "Thank you" might Not get it at this Point.

It was nothing personal, however, this month alone I've had nearly 25 non payers, messing with my auctions, using excuses such as "My 3 year old son must have bid", or "I only thought I bid £25".

eBay/PP accounts are just like bank accounts, do you give out your online banking log in details?

Non Payers do my head in. I wouldn't remove a strike for less than £50. Maybe as suggested, you need to up your "compensation" offer.

After the third day I go to cancel. I put the ball back in my court. Ebay must have a clause or something cause most of them pay up. If you don't put something about prompt payment in front of there noses or a threat of being blocked for life, they walk all over you. I never left a strike ever.

Most of my auctions now require instant payment. I can't be asked with all the non-payers.
