Angry MC010 Notice: eBay Account Limited-Verify Identity " i tried my best but i failed"

okay so my account is around 3 months old, last month i got the 30 days limitation thing i waited for 30 days and today i was able to list item for sale again. all my problem arrived when i got hit with the "MC010 notice" right when i listed the item. they were telling me that i needed to contact ebay so they can Verify my Identity if i dont within 48 hour i was going to face a suspension.

i didn't panic at all i just read some post around the forum to educate myself before making my "ninja moves" when i called ebay the guy told me he was going to compared info from public record ect. then he asked me for my name and address and for how long i been living there with no problem i answered him.

then my first question was if i lived before in ones of the zip codes that he mentioned i said "none of the above" 2nd question was how tall i'm "this is where my problems started because all the info in my ebay are ⊗⊗⊗⊗" anyway i told him i was 5'4 then he said that thats not what he have. so now i need to fax then a Copy of my driver's license or other government-issued ID.

now what should i do now should i wait till tomorrow and call again and see if i get lucky? i only have 48 hours or my ebay account will face suspension.

My suggestion is "creating" what you need...Look hard enough as there is someone here that can help for a price...DO not know his name off hand...Maybe someone here will PM you the info...

I now know I need to google "myself" before calling eBay to verify...

yesh he did i was shocked "when those words came out of his mouth" but i still have the MC010 restriction should i call them tomorrow before my 48 hr is over. also do ebay keep record every time i call because i could call again and see how my luck goes

can anybody tell me how to pass this, what happen after the 48 hr they gave you do they closed the account or would i be able to recover it if i send what they are asking me.

How tall are you? For Real?
All I can think of is the name you used must be out there for real somewhere and they had some sort of access to either drivers license records or the like...

What next the ebay asking you a question like, "I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 100."

I have been on hold for 30 minutes now after making the call and only have 30 minutes left on my spoof card. Even dialed back a second time...this is crazy!

Update: I finally hung up...WTF? I call twice and both times after entering the pin it says that the account has been verified, but hold on the line which I realize is the "none of the above" quiz coming up, but to have to wait 45 just to take that BS quiz? I'll probably try again tomorrow even though that will be longer than 48 hours. Technically I did call them and the recording said I was verified, all within 48 hours...I realize I will still have to answer the questions

It goes without saying, but boy are the people at ebay a bunch of stupid morons

Doesn't matter if you verify the phone again, you will be banned in 48 hours because of the failed test.
You either have start creating documents to fax in, or move on to another account.
I fax them the same documents 10 times a day using freefax, they don't like that but I could care less.

I finally got through and got to talk to a live person today after holding for 12 minutes this time. The 2 questions that they asked my were what county had I previously lived in...I told the guy that I had always lived in this county...he read off 4 choices and I repeated that I had always lived in this county. The next question was, what is the area code that is registered on my account and he read off 4 choices and I told him that it was none of them, but the area code on the number that I was calling him from.
He said okay and that my account would be re-activated and my listing re -instated. They show up on "my ebay" but not when doing a search, so I might have to re-enter them. Just for kicks I tried to start a listing and I got past the spot where I was blocked prior to the verification phone call.
I'll check again tomorrow and if they don't show, I'll just re-list...
...but no questions about my height anyway

Sorry...area code.

I've had to call twice now (once each on 2 different accounts)
Area code question was used each time.

WTF? asking what area code the account was registered in when you are calling from that phone or spoofing it?

That was me jamming up the fax machine with midget PORN!

Nah, I just faxed in a few things from multiple accounts at the same time. Their system can't be that ****ty and I seriously doubt they are printing out hard copies.

are they saying anywhere on the emails or messages that they are using any company? as there are companies out there that gather public data.

I am sure they said they were using two companies in the UK in the email I got.

Just found what they show on people search, as they have an example

Why anyone care what company they are using? The information on the account is stealth anyway and is none in any company system (just ebay and paypal) :-)

BTW, so everyone knows...they keep records of EVERY call and what they talk about you with. I called a rep 2 months ago about an account and he pulled up records of that conversation to me!

Maybe because if it is public record information then there is nothing stopping you obtaining the same information. So when you are making up your stealth accounts then you are much better prepared for ebay/paypal asking you questions

But if you would prefer to just keep throwing away your accounts as they keep using this more and more then you just ignore the question?

They have done that to me 3 times over the past 10 years! They really don't have access to "reliable" public information.

AND. the only way they can get "reliable" information is to access the credit bureau! They can't do that legally unless you give your permission. Come on guys! Think about it.................If my name were John Smith and I lived in NYC. Let's google that and see how many we come up with. (1028) just in the city.

They want to you answer "yes" to one of the questions, then BAM! they got you! This has been my experience over the last 3 times they tried pulling this on me.
