Default Paymate rejected my first transaction.

It was for a dollar, and they rejected it within 4 hours! I'm not sure why, but has this happened to anyone else?

Does it have to be for more $$$?

Call them and find out. Probably your best bet.

I sent them an email. I plan on calling if they don't respond. I don't think they'll pick up the phone from what I've read on these forums...

Please let us know what happened when you find out. I used them for a while and never had this problem. They always respond to my e-mails though. Maybe the credit or debit card the customer used was declined?

IDK. But apparently you have to pay $35 to talk to them! https://www.paymate.com/cms/index.ph...188&Itemid=236

Got a reply.

Quote:
Thank you for contacting Payment.

The reason why the buyer was not able to complete the transaction is because of Paymate's Risk Management. What happens is that for every transaction that happens in the Paymate's system, we have an internal security model that identifies patterns of behavior. This is similar to the way banks and credit card companies identify patterns of behavior when approving individual transactions. It does not look at them, their credit or you as a seller. It just looks at the transaction from a pure statistical basis.

I am sorry if this has created any inconvenience for you. We work hard to protect the buyer and the seller in these transactions. They may try another card for the payment.

If you have further questions please don't hesitate to contact us back or browse our FAQ page.

Best,
Edz

So what i can gather from that reply is like the banks here with the falcon program - say you sign up for something online sometimes the "seller" takes out $1-$2 to make sure your credit or debit card is real, and if the bank are unsure of the transaction they suspend the card until you ring them to confirm its a legit purchase.
