Activity: 0% Longevity: 81% | | What should i do? Sigh so stressed
i've been sitting on about 15 orders now for 8 days. Waiting for my packages to arrive. first the EMS package is still stuck in customs in new york.. a 20 count of the product. And now my 40 count of the product is stuck in dhl with clearance delay.
Any tips? Should i just go on dhgate find 1 of the top sellers and buy more and get it shipped out immediately, or wait it out? After tomorrow, i'll have 22 orders waiting on product..I've ordered the product and the product is delinquent by 2 weeks now because of friggin customs.I know of 1 seller on dhgate who ships fast via DHL, he's a bit more expensive but i ordered on a thursday and received on a monday from him before, not as good quality... But i need to get these friggin people their goods in the mail...

a tip I used, it was just once when I ran out of stock, - I told customer, that I tried to deliver but it got returned and was there something wrong with address they gave me, and I will try again once theyve confirmed address etc etc, it buys you time, and kind of puts fault away from you and gets a good response...

A very smart idea oompa - I have used that before - I have also used the friendly customer service message that the item was damaged in post, they called me to notify, I felt it was wise to let buyer know, etc. Buyer was happy that she was not gettign sh*t ends so all was well.

So far nobody has complained. I print out the labels pretty quickly, so that if they do say something... I will say let me check the tracking and then give them a line of BS.... I had a label sitting in my cabinet for 2 months.. i forgot it. i sent it out 2 months later and it arrived no problem. So just because it says must be used by xxxx it really doesn't,

Don't forget a lot depends on what product you are selling. You speak of DHGate and EMS so I am making some general items that it's a popular item ha - be careful in many ways =)

I've done this for 15 years. at the beginning with even hotter legit items. Now it's more well... anyway, i have run into Customs problems. I am talking with new supplier, i have purchased from him once before, i think he is more experienced. I mean what's another $500 in orders right? I don't know what to tell my other guy, should i let him keep sending it out? He has offered to reship... but im almost to the point of dont bother. I've worked with this guy for 6 months and no problems. It's sad, he has become a good friend

Lisitng items before you actually receive them is not a great idea. These days, people expect their stuff quickly - like within 3 or 4 days in my experience.
And customs is always a potential problem. Legitimate goods can be delayed and counterfeit goods can be seized. It seems like more stuff is being inspected these days.

^^^^ I have been waiting for somebody to state the obvious!
I was starting to think that this was a common business practice with most here.

I had plenty of stock, sales were slow... then people went nuts last weekend... and i had an order that was in customs on the 28th which is when they were buying like crazy... And then well, it's still in customs. a week later i placed another order, now that's in dhl customs... now 1/2 week later another order, we'll see if this one gets here. If i received everything i ordered, i may not have to order again for 3 months ><
There is no excuse, i have every right to get chewed out many times, i just hope it doesn't ruin my 1 TRS account. SIGH

Quick update...dhl said package was examined and released and should be delivered tomorrows. Tracking has not updated. But I trust the import specialist since that is all they deal with

It's because - people can correct me if i am wrong - ems is more expensive for shipping from China...such is what I have been told during my explorations into the 'dark world' ha.
DHL also seems to allow for heavier packages.

Customs is tricky, look dhl is better for bulk and ems is ok but as long as you communicate to your buyer you should be good

all my packages have come through ems. if you have bulk items ive been told by dhl, but ems for bulk i think should be fine. there are some customs that are very hard to get by some chinese sellers told me especially la customs ive heard. well guess ill find out about dhl when i start getting bigger items.

I was told LA customs was easier.. so its really random, i think its all random, my dhl package i talked about in this thread was seized. I have another coming monday or tuesday. i hope it comes through, EMS is usually fine, but i did lose one at the end of august to NY customs. Usually it's fine through there it happens though...
