It seems either the buyer did a chargeback to Paypal which they take the money from you, or the buyers bank did. It's sad really, you can't do anything about it. Think of it as the cost of doing business.

How is it possible that I cant do anything about this? If you do a credit card chargeback or anything like that dont they have to contact both sides before they just reverse the charges? This makes no sense.

Credit card chargebacks are a one-way thing. The buyer disputes it and they get the money back. It's up to you to then prove that they were wrong and try for the company to resolve the chargeback in your favor.

Well,
I'll just threaten him with further action and since the charges were reversed by him through his bank, I will let him know that my lawyer will be contacting his bank to let them know of a fraudulent claim. Its worked before...

Paypalblows07,

The other way to get this person back is to get them suspended 4 life. Its takes awhile but I have successfully taken down 2 accounts for issues similar to this. Things like that is the only reason I resort to a measure like this. If someone is not happy with a product, then that is different, refund the money and move on.

Tell paypal that reversing a charge saying it wasn't authorized is a violation of their TOS and bug them to suspend the buyer's paypal account. Call them if needed. Hell, tell paypal they should let you keep the money and give the buyer a negative balance so once the buyer refills money on their account you get it back.

By the way, echeck chargebacks = you have no chargeback rights. That's why people off paypal usually don't take echeck.

Yeah, but in credit card chargebacks, the buyer has to send the item back to you and have proof that they mailed it and it was accepted (ie signature). Buyers cant get their money back unless the item has been returned.

I've only gotten chargebacks where the person claims it was unauthorized. First time it wasn't delivered to billing address so I made them have to do that. Second time it was to their billing address to the cardholder's name. Cardholder flat out lied and ripped merchants off. Now I make everyone sign for it. I still ship to foreign where I get nothing, but foreign people haven't ripped me off whereas Americans do.

That's why you wait until the eCheck clears before sending anything...

If you start the process of transferring money from your paypal to your bank account can that transaction be cancelled if someone did a chargeback?
