Default Invoicing through Google Checkout

Guys,

what do you think of this scenario?

I got a PP account closed so I can't receive payments on it so I was thinking on listing a few items on Ebay and putting that PP account as a method of payment so when the auction ends even if the buyer tries to pay through Paypal he won't be able to since the Paypal account is not able to receive payments so then I would communicate with the buyer and invoice him through Google Checkout. Now, if the buyer has a problem paying through Google Checkout, I don't really see why would he, I can send him a Paypal money request from a stealth Paypal account so he can pay for the item.

So my questions are:

- Does ebay care if the buyer pays through other means other than Paypal? I can put on the listings that I accept Paypal and also check or money orders through mail.

- Would Paypal limit my stealth account for receiving payments through Money Requests?

I already got 3 ebay accounts and 3 paypal accounts, all stealth, one with 10 feedback so I can start selling but I really don't like much the 21 day hold and I am also afraid they would limit my stealth Paypal account. I am selling vero items but they are 30 to 50 dollars each item and don't plan on selling more than 1500 a month.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

if paypal is down, ebay is sure to follow

You can manually invoice customers, but you will get reported and eventually booted for using google checkout

best to start over with a new ebay/paypal, or get a merchant account, or use an approved processor that won't get you kicked

I also have a Paymate account so I can offer that instead of Paypal and if the buyer doesn't want to use Paymate then I can offer Google Checkout.

Do you think a buyer would report me for not accepting Paypal?

no, I don't plan to offer Paypal with the bad Paypal account...just Paymate so if the buyer asks why I dont offer Paypal, I can tell him/her that my account is bad but he/she can pay more easily through Google Checkout.

what do you think?

I think if you flat out tell people you offer google checkout, it will work for a short time until you get shut down

The other option is just be a salesman and tell people you want to use a better more secure payment method

or start all over with a brand new stealth account

I hear you but I'd rather not advertise anywhere in my listing that I accept Google Checkout because that would surely trigger a suspension sooner or later but once the buyer wins the auction then I would communicate with him and offer him that option. I don't see why a buyer would report me for offering him an alternate method of payment other than Paymate; I would tell him that I don't accept Paypal because they closed my account, simple as that.

As you say, I may just try this on on an account and see how long it lasts, at least the good thing is that since I wont be using Paypal even if they close the eBay Stealth account, there won't be any money held on Paypal since I am not using it LOL

You can keep selling if you list an acceptable mode of payment i.e. Paymate.

You will have a number of buyers hesitant to use google checkout - you can try though.

Personally, I use a merchant processor that accepts Paypal - doesn't do the trick 100% but keeps one account open for now...

Which merchant account company are you using? cartmanager? ..that is a good idea but don't you have to provide documentation or apply through ebay in order to use that?

I read on this forum that merchant account companies will no longer be allowed by Ebay in a few months...is that true?

you have to use a card processor along with a checkout system

I don't know if that's true, there are many alternatives to what you want, you need to read the stealth guide to get the best answers.

I used to use Google Checkout all the time. Once my paypal got limited, I would keep selling and just use GCO to process payments. I would continue to list and have buyers pay with paypal. Once they paid, I would send them a message explaining I am having issues with paypal and would rather use an alternative payment method that is a bit safer. I would refund their paypal payment and send a GCO invoice. Most buyers would go ahead and pay. They figure if this guy is honest enough to refund my paypal and feel safe to go ahead with my alternate method. Worked out fine unti GCO shut me down after a few months.

I'm not really sure, this was like 2 years ago so I can't remember the details. I think it was just b/c I was processing so many payments through GCO they got suspicious. I think I wrote about it on here somewhere if you can dig it up. GCO sucks when they shut you down b/c they block all information about all orders from you.
