Default Moneybookers/Paymate/Propay

Sorry for the cross-posting fellas. Can some people give me the pluses and minuses of the Paypal alternatives?

I have a soft PP limitation that may or may not be resolved, and 2 Ebay accounts in very good standing, with over 40 feedback each, 100% positive, and five star DSRs across the board.

I highly recommend Paymate but, others will disagree. For me personally, they worked great. Only problem was their customer service as they will not answer any phone calls, well from my experience with them anyways. All payments went through fine and I did not lose any customers. So yes I definitely recommend Paymate however, your mileage may vary.

With any of these companies, you're not really in control of your money. Thats the biggest minus I can think of. Have you considered a merchant account?

Do you really need to be a powerseller to use propay?

I use moneybookers on the side - tough to get people into it. International customers will complain about their exchange rate so be aware.

Paymate sucks, Moneybookers sucks, ProPay sucks etc.

Every one of them sucks because buyers want PP, plain and simple. Your sales will drop significantly if you don't accept PayPal.

Ebay has brainwashed all buyers into thinking that if a seller doesn't use PP then they are a fraud. Its dumb but that's just the way it is. If you want buyers to pay with a different payment processor, you are going to need to be selling a VERY HOT item that is NOT sold by too many others, at a SIGNIFICANT sale price. You also probably need an account with a good amount of feedback established.

If a buyer sees a seller with 2 feedback that only takes Moneybookers, they will more than likely run.

You might be able to get buyers to pay via a manual PP invoice for you Moneybookers or Paymate auctions (this would bypass the 21 day hold as well)

My sales have dried up since my paypal was frozen. I've had buyers wanting to cancel transactions, and some have just not paid.
I've had buyers asking if I'll take a paypal payment and when I explain that paymate is just as good, they pass.
But I have one person today who, after I explained that they can pay with a CC with paymate, did actually buy it.
Yep, without paypal people think that they have no protection.

I need my PP account.

Yes, you will be linked. Unless you login using a different IP etc. for PP and manually invoice for "goods". But then PP will limit you.

I'd use a new windows account just for it, but you're, in time they would limit that one as well.

It's a never ending cycle...

Default Problems with Paymate

I've been using Paymate for over 6 months. The whole month of Sept they haven't made one deposit into my checking account. I have approved transactions from August, and they state in their payment approval E-Mails they will deposit funds within 10-15 business days.

This is not a isolated incident with just my account. They aren't making deposits to a lot of other US sellers too...

I'm using MoneyBookers too and haven't had any problems with them.

I liked my paymate account to ebay, it was accepted, I dont need a merchent account (yet anyway), it states active, this account meets all the requirments and has been approved, how when buyers try to pay it says "Seller has not set up their account to receive payments yet. Please contact Paymate and advise seller"

these dumb people dont answer their phones, EVER any paymate guru's here? what can I do?

Thanks

after I get this settled im gonna have a TON of experiments with paymate

I have used Paymate now for the last 2 years and love them. After you set your account up did you receive a email asking for more information? You have to fill out the merchant account form in order for them to actually turn your account on.

If your having issues you should shoot Inga a email. She is in charge of turning on new accounts. Her email is ingag@paymate.com
