Unhappy BBB vs. Paypal

I have recently filed a complaint against Paypal with the Better Business Bureau. The rep explained that there are 5,777 current cases against Paypal...hmmm thought there woud be more. She siad that Paypal is registered with the BBB and has to reply within 30 days. Has anyone had any success with the BBB against Paypal?

I am registered with Paypal w/ my real info, but had my account frozen with over $1,600 stuck in there. No outstanding complaints no Neg feedback. New account though....32 days. They explained that they wanted to hang on to it for 180.

Ouch! Usually Paypal just wants more information about you. Sometimes just verification of your address, bank and credit card information. And it looks like for you SS # to check your credit. Geez, I'd be pissed if Paypal froze my account for that amount of time. BBB is the best way to go though.

I've never had my account frozen for that long. At most it's was a couple days and all I had to do was call up my account manager to fix it.

Most people aren't the lucky I guess.

Also isn't the Comptroller only for goverment banking? I'm not sure if they could help.. Have you tried BBB eBayHateLuv?

Try your local attorney general and the attorney general where they do business. They are about the only ones that can make those paypal *******s pay.

File a complaint with your state attorney general and send Paypal a copy of the complaint. I guarantee you they will cough up that $1600 real quick

Default Attorney General

This morning I submitted an online complaint with my states attorney general in addition to the BBB complaint. I faxed a copy of the complaints to Paypal. I hope I get a response . I will keep the forum posted. Thanx for the advice and support.......extremely valuable.

Paypal recently froze my money of over $4K. I used all real information on the account. I'm in Canada, but can I still file a complaint with my province attorney or BB?

HI- Did you ask them why they froze it- usually they send you an email, also- in your Resolution Center within paypal- they give you several steps to complete to unfreeze--if in your own name- would be worth trying to work with them + unfreeze, esp. since so close to the Holidays---it may just be a matter of faxing them a couple items... I just had an acct that was frozen since before Thanksgiving unfrozen this week,, so i think theyre backed up..

WOW. Paypal is making $$$ of freezing people accounts. And they had the nerves to tell me that they don't make interest off the account

I heard you can only do 3 paypal disputes a year per account so you'll have to be renting lots of different mail boxes etc. boxes.

BBB is worthless, complaint with your the attorney general in your state and Ebay/Paypal state of corporation then you fax them the a copy of the complaint has a 1-25% chance of working, getting a local attorney to send them notice of impending lawsuit 25-50% chance, opening a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal account and scamming them out of the $1600 has a 100% chance of working. Just open a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal, sell 4 $400 iphones, have the mail you the check.

Update:

After reporting Paypal to the BBB and States Attorney General, a Paypal manager emailed me several times and explained that my account would be reviewed and a decision would be made soon. Before this correspondence, I emailed my customers regarding me refunding them and having them fund an alternate account. To my great shock, they all re-submitted their payments to a diff. acct. I will now only use Paypal on a limited basis with a merchant acct.

Paypal has not re-contacted me.
