Default *67 work masking calling PP

I called PP just to see if *67 would mask my #...I didn't get to a person but, their system said I was calling from some other area code and # FAR from me...Has anyone else tried this and had it work? I want to do this to avoid having to buy Tracfones to have for each account and have another 4 monthly bills...

Masking works if you are calling their 403 extension - masking does not work with calling toll-free numbers period.

what about buying a cheapie calling card - you need to go through the calling card # enter your pin, then dial. I know when I call others this way they usually get a weird # dispalying. ?? just a thought??

Don't mask your number if you are calling 888...won't work.

In fact, and this is from personal experience of calling from work once, they might ask you - "Oh would you like to add such number to your file?" Uh yeah right Agent XXX of Paypal...

Some site called Spoof your number works.

I have called paypal a few times from a banned number and I masked it using star 67 and the paypal system still says i see your calling from that banned number so they can see it. They have new technology out now and this was like 3 years ago now imagine today!

RSOT is absolutely correct. Since the owner of the toll-free line is paying for the call, they have the right to know who is calling on their lines. At least, that was the rationale behind not allowing caller-ID blocking when calling toll free numbers.

800
888
877
866
855

In addition, 844, 833 and 822 are reserved for future toll-free use.

Bulletproof? I mean if they have the tech to see through blocking a call how can this work? Would this not maybe show on system something similar to an ip proxy? I know nothing about phone spoofing so an honest question

If this works I'm all over it. But if there is even a hint on the other end you are up to shenanigans its too risky for this yellow belly

You basically call a 3rd party, who then redirects call and uses magic to show a different number on the caller ID

It works

Call blocking is totally different

It's actually VERY illegal to use this to get around CID banking regs... but it's very legal with paypal, cuz they aint no bank

It's also totally legal to call your ex-wife from her boyfriends phone number, use the female voice changer option and leave an incriminating message

I wouldn't say unmolested, but from the phone call, no... not at all.

You can try it on your phone for free. Scary stuff.
