Default "No longer a registered user"

I sold an expensive item so I took a quick peak at the buyers feedback like I usually do... Like to see what I'm up against on $$ items....

No joke, at least 20% of the sellers that he left feedback for over the last 7 years are "No longer a registered user"

Nothing to do with him, he left all positive. But dozens and dozens gone....

That's a sad sad statement on eBay today....

I see this all the time and get curious too. Hundreds probably thousands of people with nearly perfect feedback scores all "No longer registered users". Makes no sense imo.

It's really flabbergasting eBay MAKES MONEY OFF THEIR SELLERS! What good could possibly come out of suspending sellers with perfect feedback and paying their fees.

I try to figure it out and cannot come up with a reasonable explanation. If a seller is paying their fees, following the guidelines and not selling counterfeit. What else is there?

If that's eBay's example of reasonable than they need to rethink their strategy. If I hired a group of mercenaries to get rid of a thief and in the process they took out nine innocent victims, I'd be furious, that is hardly efficient.

They already get so much bad press anyways, it would be far more profitable to keep all 10 of those sellers bad eggs or not.

I swear If eBay hired me to spot scams and counterfeit sellers, I would be 10x more efficient than the monkeys they got working in that department right now.

I concur. I bet most of us in here know more about eBays system than 95% of their own employees! SMH.

Most of ebay (years ago) took a very hands off approach to sellers...

you could sell with a 5% positive feedback rating.. but you wouldn't sell much, because people knew you were bad.

What was wrong with that? Nothing.....

Yup, and the feedback system actually worked back then! Its nowhere near as effective today. Why bother looking at it, seller gets removed if its not [unreasonably] perfect

Feedback is no longer a tool for buyers to see how you are before sale. Its a tool to use against you after sale.

That no longer registered label also includes suspensions too. Lot of accounts are stuck in ID verification and people - like us ha - say fug it, and begin anew.

Lots of these on his feedback, most actually, go back years. They were just pushed out.

I looked up a bunch of sellers I used to buy off lots, about 6. ALL gone. These were good sellers. No knockoffs or junk or anything, just small businesses.....

I see freezing sellers for security and checking them out. But in theory, if you can pass security there should be NO reason, at all, to push them out. None.

So much for reason....

Ebay wants all the mom and pops gone and the big megacorp sellers with 400,000+ FB to remain pushing their 99 cent items with free ship.

If I was a conspiracy theorist I would take bets that the ebay execs purposely destroyed ebay and were selling short ebay stock all the way down to the bottom.

Parrothead88 R.I.P. Ebay's first seller to break 1,000 and 10,000 feedbacks. Gone but not forgotten.

I was just looking at feedback from a bunch of bidders on my stuff and all I could see all over the place was "no longer a registered user"

Its just sad. I bet 80% of those cats didn't really do anything wrong...

And I'm talking soooo many the sentence stood out like crazy!

Seriously. When they crunch data for board meetings do they really think the percentage of sellers they stomp is accurate??

I would love to hear what some of the brain trust say about that many sellers [with 100s or even 1000s of deals] getting the boot....
