Default How is this possible? + a few questions

Ok so I brought a second hand laptop with no WiFi on it, and I brought a prepaid wireless broadband USB stick to use it on the internet.

I made a new eBay and paypal account, both with details that are fully untracable. (new name, new address, new bank details, new phone numbers, new everything), the paypal account is confirmed and verified.

And now, I just logged in today and says I was suspended due to my previously linked accounts, which I NEVER logged onto on the new laptop with new internet connection.

I used absolutely NOTHING except eBay and Paypal with the new info/details on that new laptop with new internet connection.

Also, only my eBay account was suspended, my paypal account isn't suspended. So I'm almost certain they SOMEHOW linked me through eBay and not anything to do with paypal.

So the question is, how on earth were they able to link me to my previously linked accounts? I can guarantee that I didn't login to stealth eBay/Paypal anywhere else except that laptop. And I can guarantee every bit of information was completely different to my previously suspended account.

This is so frustrating, just wish eBay could take me off the blacklist so I don't have to go to all this trouble.

Anyway I'd just like to find out why this has happened, and also I have a few other questions regarding making a new one:

-If I make a new eBay account can I just link it with that paypal account which was previously linked to my suspended ebay account?

-Since I have prepaid wireless broadband and it creates a new IP address every time I connect (like dialup), would it be completely safe to just make up a new eBay/paypal on this computer since they won't be able to track the IP address? if not, what will I have to do to make sure it's guaranteed safe?

Any other tips would be helpful.

Thank you.

Its the little things that always get us. Since PayPal is fine, you're right its on eBay side

Same products and images maybe?

If you don't have the Stealth Book yet that's a great start

You should really try and figure out what linked you or it may just happen again. Remember, it can be the silliest thing we overlook. Go over that account with a fine tooth comb. Something in there nailed you.

Try and find something that was used before.

Default simple

The 2nd hand laptop wasnt wiped correctly[ had data for a suspended Ebay acct.] AND a new windows username wasnt created.

Create a new windows username OR

1) Install Flashblock and Better Privacy addon's on Firefox
2) Use Firefox privacy setting to delete existing history, cookie, other date information

3)Close Firefox then reopen

YUP that's more than likely what happened. Did you create a new windows user account on the laptop? If not you got linked to the suspended person who owned the laptop before you.

Use it as a learning experience .
You had good intentions with the entire process, and it's a solid start so continue with how you tackled the situation.
Correct the issues you had by formating the laptop and using user accounts.
You will be good to go in no time goodluck!

Thanks guys I'll see how I go.
How do I go about transferring money from paypal to my bank account ?
Do I just open up a new savings account, and then on paypal can I use a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name still and the money will still go into my account?

Correct, most aus banks don't reject payments based on differing names.
