Default Let's See How it Goes

After reading thru this forum for a few days, I decided to give it a go and get back on eBay.

I used to be able to make $600+ a day on Ebay selling some Vero items (this was 4 years ago) then I got frustrated when they started taking me down. I did not know all the tricks here - so I went back to work. Now I need some extra cash and I am open to everything that is offered on this site!

So today I decided to give it another try Just to see how it goes. I will let you all know if Ebay's new security methods are hard at work or hardly working!

First I used AOL to create a new account in Ebay and Paypal - using the exact info. I used a real name (not my own - but that of a family member that gave the ok). My thought is that if the account survives and I need to verify the SSN - I will be able to with no problem.

I registered today and it allowed me to start selling today. I listed an item that normally bids up to $30-$50. I used Ebay's text via the product title. SO I used no information of my own. The title I used something generic - but it did have the name of the item in there. The item is a hot seller; so I am hoping it does not blow up.

I thought I would buy something first but I have read in here from others that said they opened account and sold on the 1st day.

Now, my questiion to the experts is how do I run two or more accounts simultaneously? That way I can use FeeBay's example of spreading out the products over multiple accounts and not really having a problem with Paypal due to the volume?

Any thoughts?

Also, one more thing. I had purchased "How to Get Back On Ebay" guide. It was pretty good. But one thing this guy stresses is not to use AOL! He said that AOL gives and immediate dent in your score with Ebay. Secondly he always advises never to sell on the first day!

So lets see how this goes down.

My sales are all legit - I don't take people's money. All my customers are

Dear XXXXXX (XXXXXXXX@aol.com),

Your eBay account has been suspended. eBay took this action after determining that your account was acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies.

You are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.

Any seller fees that are still owed are due to eBay immediately. eBay will charge any amounts that you have not previously disputed to the billing method that is currently on file.

Sincerely,

eBay Trust & Safety
My account was down in less than 2 hours yesterday. So Ebay VERO people are on the job or their algorithyms are real tight!

I listed a "PLANET EARTH" DVD set - just one. They allowed me to open a Sellers account - I did not have to give a bank account; just a credit card.

So next is to try the 30 day layover and see if that makes a difference...

Oh well.

INteresting... I see his email was AOL-- so maybe theres a combination- a PROFILE thats fed into their software to detect based upon past fraud?? AOL acct, dvd sale, new seller acct, -0- feedback, less than 60 day acct, etc.

It wasnt the dvd that got you suspended. You just have to realize that 1 out of 3 accounts are going to go down for no reason at all. Also Ebay knows that you arent registering a account to sell 1 DVD. The know its something suspicious about that. Most new users list about 5 or more items.

Chris- Youre prob right.. maybe thats why i lost 32 in 6 weeks? ON the other hand- I had always thought that ebay PREFERS the PAID services like AOL, etc, rather than the freebies for aol, anyone can create??

$30 a month for the spyware service..LMAO what a joke.. Thats their fee to spy on your computer..

Trust me, cancel that right away. Their is free prgams that do alot better or just the same as wat AOL is charging your for. Your wasting your money.

Their spyware is a joke anyway

Default It was only a Test

I kind of figured I did not stand a chance - but I wanted to find out a couple things:

(1) could I set up a new account like a new person on Ebay? Yes, I did. I did not even have to enter a checking account. This was my first time ever not having to enter one. there were 3 options (Credit Card/Paypal/Checking Account). I choose Paypal!

(2) I created my Paypal and Ebay Account at the same time. The paypal did not go down - but I dare not even use it now.

(3) I was able to create a Seller's account and post an auction with 0 feedback. I guess if I had not listed a "Hot" item I may have gotten by.

(4) My account was "hours" old before posting also.

So next I will create more accounts to let them build some time. My thought is that Ebay probably knows people are doing the 30 day thing. So maybe that is not so much of a factor. What I mean is that truly your 30 days start when you start selling!

I have to test that too!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone here for their feedback. I have learned alot.

I did purchase "How to Get Back on Ebay". I used that to get back on before and it did work; however, I got NARUED about 2 months after. Right when I started to kick up some volume.

I got frustrated and quit for a while. But now I am back with avengence.

HTGBOEB --- told me that AOL is not a good email to use with EBAY. It is a flag on your account right off jump. It also recommened that when you open an account. You "peruse" first. Purchase a couple things. ANd then start slowly listing.

So I will go back to first base and see if I can hit a homerun.

Don't think it is so much the 30 days, as much as building up feedback by buying legit $1-2 items (pokemon card or whatever) You can always resell what you buy anyway.
