Default My letter to PayPal - have a laugh!

I had a PayPal account that was limited last month. I had already withdrawn several thousands before it got hit, but still had about $850 in it when it got limited. I thought I'll give it a try and go through the appeal process to try and get it un-limited. Didn't work, it happens ...no big deal. I lost maybe $80 since the merchandise wasn't sent yet of about 10 customers.

They finally denied my appeal and said they would hold the funds for 180 days. I thought I'd give them a run for their money, so I went ahead and refunded the customers that had already received the merchandise and contacted the ones that didn't (worth $850) to dispute the charge with PayPal.

They all disputed it and now the account balance is something like -$820 in the negative. PayPal promptly contacted me and said I would need to add funds to my account as I was responsible for those funds. Oh really? They never got released to me, so why should I be responsible. I thought I'd write them a little letter. I'll see if I get any response, but I doubt it. Anyways, here it is, enjoy it and feel free to edit/use it for yourself :D

Note I am in Japan, so PayPal's head office in Singapore applies to me.

Quote:
Dear Jesseca,

glad to receive your email!

I'm sorry but I cannot pay the outstanding balance to PayPal at this time. This is in no way meant to question your good standing with me, but I need more information before I can pay the outstanding balance. Please complete the steps below and fax me the following documents so I can review your request further:

- A copy of your passport.

- A copy of your latest mobile phone bill (every Singaporean has a mobile phone, so this should be easy!)

- A copy of your birth certificate.

Since I prefer to speak Japanese (even though I can only speak a little), your birth certificate must be in Japanese. I will not accept it in any other language. Of course, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you. Note that the birth certificate must also contain the names of BOTH of your parents.

- A copy of BOTH of your parents' passports.

I require this so I can verify your identity. This is in no way meant to question your legitimacy with your parents.

- A video proving that your parents really conceived you.

Please ask your parents if they have a video of their wedding night. This would be perfect. As much details as possible, please, so I can verify that it is indeed you being conceived. Note that the video must be original, I will not accept copies. If you parents are speaking anything other than Japanese on the video, it must be translated and certified by a recognized translation office. You can find a list of certified translation offices by contacting me again. I am not providing you this list as an extra step of security, it is in no way meant to cause you any inconvenience.

Note that if your father is your real father, but your adoptive father, please have your mother send me a letter explaining why.

- A link to your personal website.

I know you work for PayPal, but I need a link to your personal website. A link to the PayPal website is not accepted. Also ensure that the domain is registered in your name and the address must match the address in your passport. I know passports don't have addresses, but it must match anyways.

If you don't have a personal website, you need to send me a separate letter explaining why you don't have a personal website.

All the information above must be faxed to me within 24 hours. If I do not receive it within 24 hours, I may be unable to pay the outstanding balance to PayPal. Also please remember I don't have a fax, so if you are unable to fax it, you may also deliver it to me in person within 24 hours. If I am not at home when you attempt to deliver the documentation, I cannot be held responsible.

Thank you for making my experience with PayPal a safer and easier one by completing these few easy steps for my safety and I look forward to paying the outstanding balance as soon as possible!

Kind regads

Oh my that is so funny. I needed a good laugh I have been so upset the last few weeks about this whole ebay thing. Each of you aspire people like me who would have been knocked into submission by ebay to fight back. You are all bad azz. I have had more help from all you then I have had using paypal/ebay for the last seven years. That says a lot.

Yeah, it hurts the first few times they kill your account. But with each hit it hurts less, until one day when you wake up in the morning, have a little 'PayPal Account Limitation" email in your inbox, you go get your coffee, take a dump (lol) and pull out the next account from your pocket and are right in business again.

My biggest work these days is driving to the bank and making a new bank account for PayPal. I always have about 5-6 accounts on stand-by. You get used to it

Very funny. See, I knew you could still get accounts to go negative. For the people you already sent to and refunded, why don't you email them tell them someone tried to hacked your account, so you refunded their payment. Ask if they could send you a money order or pay you to a new "throwaway" paypal account. In my expirence about 25% are honest enough to repay after receiving the item.
For the one you did not ship, you should refund those also and tell them paypal advised you to refund their payment citing security concerns over the funding of their account. Email them:
Paypal has frozen your payment and advise me to issue a refund citing security concerns over your payment method. Please contact them at 1-888-221-1161 to resolve.
Chances are if the item was rare or good price, about half will call tying up customer service. They hate providing customer service. It cost them money

That's classic. Let us know if they respond. Also I had an account restored a while ago. I called once and the lady I talked to didn't reinstate it so I hung up called back same thing. About the 4th or 5th call finally got someone to do it. I use this method for many things like bills and stuff. If the first person doesn't get you what you want just call back till you get someone who will.

No return email from PayPal yet on it. My guess is that they printed it and it now hangs in their office, though :D

His avatar is a guy performing oral sex on a woman with her pubic hair as his mustache. It is an old joke I saw in the late 80s I think. But I don't like looking at it when trying to read this forum.

You guys should read my letter to half.scam. My letter to them was nothing short of declaring world war three against greedbay and its various entities, backed by a public campaign to upload dozens of videos all over the internet naming names: first and last, their home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, like they do to registered sex offenders.

When paypal defrauds users and lock their accounts with 180 days hold-overs, they collect massive amount of interest, which is nothing short of holding your money hostage with a metaphorical gun to your head. This means WAR!

The names on the paypal email ought to be exposed publicly. Expose their employees and you expose everything wrong with paypal.

Make them accountable for their actions by reminding them they have no jurisdiction or authority over your money.

U.S. citizens: Evoke your U.S. Constitutional Rights!

Threaten Federal law suits on paypal employees personally! You can legally File complaints on them if you feel you have been robbed by them.

Play their game by throwing their crap back in their face.
Be aggressive but not irate in your letter to them.

Get personal.

Web sites like paypalsucks, paypalwarning, ebaysucks are three places right there you can start. That will get the word out fast.

Scour the net for related-web site you can easily post a public complaint.

Then file complaints with Your Bank, INS, IRS, CIA, FBI, BBB, local court house.

That's 10 complaints offices right off the bat. :D and youtube videos.

Sorry, didn't want to offend anyone. I changed my avatar back to my old original one ...a bit less disturbing
