Default Offered buyer a refund to revise there feedback and they did it before refund...

ok here is my delima. Buyer left me negative feedback unjustly, and i offered them a refund to revise there feedback, they have revised the feedback and i have not issued them a refund yet as i am waiting for some funds to clear and i have informed them of that. This buyer still has the product and it is unusable and unsellable at this point. I know i told the buyer one thing but the feedback was totally uncalled for and false.

I did not mention that they need to return the item.

Should i force them to return the item (major major inconvenience for them because of the type of product that has to be installed and they installed it) before i issue the refund.

Should i not issue them a refund and tell them to go F themselves. Can they go back and change there feedback?? this is my concern here.

Or should i do as i promised? My brain is saying follow through with the refund, but my heart and emotions are telling me that i should tell the buyer to F off.

What are the consequences of telling the buyer to F off beside them possibly filing a SNAD complaint with paypal?

what would you do?
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

Best tip of being a seller never listen to your emotions.... buyers will get you mad but if you listen to your emotions you will be cursing out 50% of your buyers :D Just refund him the money other then pissing him off your accomplishing nothing by making him ship back a product that you can't even resell, that you will most likely just throw out the minute it arrives.

I would refund him. I've been in the same situation before and refunded the buyer even after he revised the feedback. The last thing you need is an angry buyer possibly reporting you to eBay and then having eBay take a closer look at your account ..and who knows what will happen then. I would refund him and move on.

I'm going to co-sign with everyone else. Refund the buyer and move on. I lost a few accounts by fighting the buyer, it's not worth it and both you and the buyer will be happy in the long run.

i disagree with the part about "both you and the buyer being happier in the long run" i know the buyer will certainly be happier. But i will never be happy about that situation.

however i am leaning towards just refunding the buyer.

Refund the buyer.

You made a deal, live up to it.

why stir up a hornets nest. There is always a market for an "unusable/unsellable" item. Make the buyer return item, and when you receive it, send the refund through. whatever you lose, write off on your taxes next year, and move on. If it is not a high cost item, just let them keep it, and dont worry about it. Not worth the trouble.

Refund and Move on,,,,If you do not,,,,there is the Possibility that the Buyer will complain about you to Ebay,,,who in turn will Flag your account,,,or worse you Boot you,,,
Just because they cannot Take back their Feedback Revision it does NOT Mean that they can No longer Hurt you,,,So DO NOT Get Slick,,,They Can Still Hurt you,,,, I Guarantee that!!

If you didn't refund him then he could still file a Buyer Protection Claim against you still if it has been less than 60 days. You don't want those adding up or your account will get suspended.

I would really just ask for the item back and tell them you will refund them money. That is the best solution. Sure you may throw the item out...but THEY don't have it now along w/ leaving NEG f/b.

Not only if you don't refund him because you came to a agreement like he can't get his money back by another means and still buy another item and leave you neg feedback just cause you fxxk him then whats that going to do? your going to fxxk yourself twice that doesn't make sense.

OP:

Look... YOu promised your buyer you would refund him. He revised the feedback before hand. He took the initiative to do the nice thing for you first.
Keep your promise! And not because he can file a dispute on PP, which he can, but because you made a promise to him that you refund THEN he revised FB.

As much as you hate this jerkwand... keep your promise. Be the better person and move on!
