Default Preliminary test---merchant account vs paypal...paypal wins

Ok I set up an authorize.net merchant account and added it to my list of payment methods (paypal and now credit cards). In my auction descriptions and also the checkout page I simply said pay directly a credit card for the fastest possible shipping.

So far 20 items sold...1 paid me directly with authorize.net. Do you all turn paypal completely off and force buyers to pay you directly?

I Found that it helps A LOT When you Direct them to Authorize.net for ALL Credit and DEBIT card Transactions,,,So Basically word it in such a Way that ALL Plastic Card Transactions should click Here (Authorize.net) More and More People are Using DEBIT Cards, and May Not realize that that PayPal can also Process them,,,So Take Advantage of it,,,,Im Now in the Process to see if i Can incorporate their eCheck, Check Processing serivice on Ebay as well,,If I Can It will Help a Lot More I think,,,,

just remove the Paypal payment option, I only use Authorize.net and have only a few who bitch every so often. Figure at least 3 years now with no Paypal and all is well.

If you have an merchant account and uncheck Paypal, does the Pay Now button take you to the gateway page with the item information already automatically filled in? To complete the sale, all the buyer has to do is enter their cc info and click Go? It seems that none of the merchant account websites explain the payment flow off the ebay page.

Exactly.. Make your stuff look professional and its all good. Uncheck paypal.. If your a small seller tell buyers you own a merchant account like jcpenny sears etc.... You have to relate to them to make them understand

There are so many ways to do it. I still put a google checkout button on my ebay auctions and 90% pay through the google checkout button..

Then again I can sell water to a person..lol
