I have gone through over 200 ebay accounts (I don't pay the jerks). Not only have a I cancelled bids but i even saved the Edbay IDs of the people I cancelled and placed them in the blocked bidders list in my next/newer account. I thought this might have flagged me. Never had. Never.

You sound like you know a way ahead of time if someone is going to be a bad bidder. I have found feedback scores don't really tell, though I am still wary of the 0 feedback personally, but I usually don't cancel bids.

So you know a way ahead of time if someone is going to be a bad bidder??

Default Also

I have required 5 feedback or better.. may lose some but it prevents those buyers who are testing and nonpayers.

Jonas,

I have my suspicions. First, newbies tend to want to pay with paypal. I don't offer it. Also, they want to pay via cc. I don't offer that either, but ebay requires me to put it in my listing since the majority of my accounts were created post Jan 17, 2007 and pre mid Nov 2007. That means I have to have a credit card icon in my listing as a payment method (you know, at the bottom of the listing). However, with those accounts I can say I do not accept credit cards like 2 or 3 times in the listing. that usually solves the problem of people wanting to pay via cc, but not with newbies.

Now the important issue. I tend to sell VERO items. I sell very similar items throughout the year. Some buyers and some sellers know that my items are Vero violations (some sellers are quite competitive). These people will sabatoge my listing and place bids only to give me bad feedback. Often times these are new accounts created within 30 days so they have to wait the 5 or 6 days ebay makes you wait to leave a Neg. However, they can slam me so hard that my account gets a 30 hold for selling items. It is up to me to file the non paying bidder crap to get the Negs removed. Sales plummet. So, I am checking my bidders often. Very often. I will cancel bids and block IDs. Since these people will then tend to move onto my other accounts (they tend to find me eventually, I have learned to block them). Granted, it does not happen often but enough that I have taken some big losses because of it.

So just ban new accounts? I sometimes see people who bid to neg using old sleeper accounts.

Also on an odd subject, I have a buyer who is always good, always pays, always leaves positive but his old buyer accounts keep getting suspended one after the other and he makes a new account. He's been a good buyer so far from what I have seen.
