Default Amazon returns

A buyer purchased an item from me which was brand new now they say it is defective. B****!! They aretrying to send back their junk item in its place..Im just ignoring him for now to see what my recourse is. My account has been hit all week with bogus claims. The account is 5 months old little to no sales and barely any feedback. Now all of a sudden people have a problem. Like damaged item. Or " oh i did not knowI purchased a used dvd i want to return it" After a week of watching the fkn thing!!

Just read the return policy. Amazon 's return policy does not apply to third party sellers. they force us to take back the return below is an excerpt:

Amazon Marketplace sellers are required to accept returns even if the merchandise was exactly as described. If you refuse to accept the return of an item that is less than $300 and Amazon.com determines that it is materially different, you may be held responsible for any Guarantee claim or charge dispute filed for the transaction.

Or This

The customer decides to return an item

Buyers can return new media items (that is, books, CDs, VHS tapes and DVDs) in their original condition postmarked within 30 days of shipment. If the item returned is not defective/damaged/materially different, you can assess a reasonable restocking fee which should not exceed 20%.

For used media, defects/damage/material difference should be reported to you within 14 days of receipt and the returned merchandise should still be postmarked within 30 days of shipment. There should be no restocking fee charged if the item is defective/damaged/materially different.

So what is it do we have to exept returns on all items even if opened and is not defective. Then it can't be sold as anew item. We are at a loss

Welcome to the wonderful world of Amazon.

You can either learn to deal with the rules or not sell there.
It is really pretty simple.
No way around it.

Was sure it would close but it just pulled out by it's chinny chin chin. Passed the 30 day review and I sold some Vero on it. Now it is stabalized Averages about 15% positive feedback, hasn't been hit with a neg as of yet but had two refunds in just 50 orders

Amazon must be getting soft. They will usually block for a lot less.

Could be I've wondered about that. I spoke with them on the phone a few times for whatever reasons.
The phone conversations may have an impact upon things too, whatever they write for the notes pertaining to it.

I have been saying this for a long time. Be aware that you can be forced to accept returns on practically anything you sell on Amazon. Your own so-called "return policy" doesn't apply, when push comes to shove (ie, a-hole buyer). I'm not even sure why Amazon lets you write your own return policy, possible as a cruel joke on sellers?
