Default I'm Scared to Open a PayPal Account

I have had 12 Ebay accounts and never had a Paypal account, believe it or not. The last account on Ebay was in Sept and I checked the Merchant Account box and they never said a word and I used GoogleCheckout. Now when I signed up for a new account, they want a copy of my last invoice or I have to open a PayPal account,

PayPal scares me to death. I have heard nothing but horror stories. I can't use my real name because I fried that long ago on Ebay. If I open a PayPal account in a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name, and just sell small stuff inder $30, will they limit me? What does 'limit' mean, anyway..

If you still have accounts open I would use those and open a merchant account in the meantime. I only use paypal when I absolutely have to.

I only have the new account, the others got closed. Where do you open a merchant account, BidPay is gone I thought. And Ebay won't accept GoogleCheckout, will they?

nah like a real merchane account

card services international is a popular one. Just type in merchant account into a google search and youll get quite a few hits. But if you dont wanna use paypal youre gonna have to wait or buy an account from someone.

HI- Well, couple of problems--- I mean Opportunities!!!
a.) Paypal WILL limit you eventually no matter the amounts.
b.) limit means- they basically freeze everything, until you provide loads of personal info, and info you may/may not have
c.) other option-- regualr merchant acct- many suggested on this forum
d.) using ccnow-- go to www.ccnow.com-- only prob-- takes 45 days to get first money, then after that--- every 15 days..
BUT-- they take paypal on your behalf- so you can legitimately offer paypal to your customers, they convert to a cash deposit to your bank acct..
--- since your ebay acct was opened after 11/20-- you now-
must go 1 step further--
a.) after you set up your ccnow acct or mercahnt acct
b.) you need to then fax ebay a copy of your merchant acct info//--I know its alot at first--but you can do it.. We're all here to help one another-
--I was in YOUR VERY SHOES just 6 months ago..but worse---

How long before they limit my account? A week? A month? I don't list anythnig electronic or Vero, just old junk under $30. Will they limit right away, even if I keep my sales low, say $150 a week?

hi- depends, i used my moms paypal acct- for like 5-7 sales , small all 20-40, and a few small purchases--they limited.
she sent her drivers lic, etc, ect-- they never reopened--said high risk??
selling non vero, but she didnt get the phone call in time, they had to send her a letter in the mail, so maybe thats what made her high risk??

If they never reopened, what happened to your money? I don't send items till I get paid, never have and never will.

So let me get this straight. I have 30 items for sale now. I open a PP account and as soon as I try and withdraw any money, they will limit it? So I paid shipping and sent items to buyers and I'm out all of that, items and money and shipping, because I can't verify my PP account?

Whats the point of Ebay anymore then, we're all screwed.

So the CC merchant account is our only alternative? 45 days is a long wait, should I cancel all my auctions? I have bids on most of them. If PP is going to limit my account right away, wouldn't I be a fool to give my stuff away for nothing?

This is how I opened and got the withdraw limit off my paypal account without using my real name...

I opened a business checking account at my local bank...ABC Inc..The bank will need your real name since they need the EIN and SS number. The bank rep will ask you if you want your personal name along with the business name put on the check card. Just decline and tell them to use only the business name on the card. I then opened a business paypal account. Verified the checking to get the paypal account confirmed and verified. I withdrew my first $500 to the business checking and paypal asked me to verify with a credit card in order to lift the $500 monthly withdraw limitation. I then used the business check card and 3 days later the paypal account limit was taken off.

What kind of information from the merchant account ebay is looking for? Will they see my address and name?

Are you serious? Scared of opening a PayPal account? If we were all scared of things before even trying them, we'd still be living in caves, because we were too scared to leave the cave.
