Default PayPal Plug-In

Hey all, Any word on the paypal plug-in??

It creates a virtual credit card number that could be used with google checkout or your own merchant account to flush funds out of your account.

It downloads right to your windows browser so I am not sure if it would be wise if you run multiple accounts. I am going to test it out and see what happens. Share your thoughts about it if you have already used it!

It'll track your accounts much easier. Anything that comes from eBay or Paypal, you can bet they'll use it to try and link accounts. Use it with caution.

So I am thinking....
Generate paypal virtual card
Pay yourself with google checkout
two hours later paypal limits your account and charges back the card before google can have it transfered to your bank.

Game over.

I just had a thought--after reading these 3 posts so far...
LOOK at how SMART we are all becoming..
We're onto "them" BEFORE they can get onto us...
I like it!!!

Can paypal reverse charges like that and that fast? Just look at bank withdrawls reversals. They don't happen instantly. It takes 2 days or more before the reversal shows up on your account.

no, they can't reverse charges done on the virtual credit card----those are instant---as soon as it is charged, it is out of paypal

now it may take some days for it to show up in your account, but paypal cannot reverse it

I did this once and 5 minutes later my paypal account was limited but the $150.00 charge from the virtual debit card wasn't touched.

Good job. That's what I thought. But it looks like they limit your account simply for using the vcc. What's up with that????

That is a ridiculous reason for limiting an account.

Quick quesiton: if I use paypal to make a VCC, pay myself with google checkout, is it possible to get the funds out of google checkout without simply depositing them to my bank? I would rather spend some online, or does google checkout only allow you to deposit it?

google checkout only allows you to deposit it----you can going shopping though through paypal shops --- they accept paypal directly through paypal.

There are a lot of big names like dell, etc---paypal encourages it because the money would stay in the paypal system! plus it would give you 'brownine points' with paypal

Guys, think of it this way---everything you do and dont do on ebay and paypal carries points---there is a certain threshold that once you cross you are limited/suspended "abusing ebay"...but on the other side, there is a certain threshold that you cross where your account is unsuspendable unless you would do something stupid

What if I receive a large payment and I spend it in one of the
"Approved Paypal Shops", will the transaction go through? I'm talking about 2k dollars...so will it go through if I'm verified or will the transaction fail and I'll get limited?

yes, it should go through --- it would be instateneous --- i dont think paypal would limit it because they still have their hands on the money

RE: Points
Yes, they do use a points system and I have never heard anything about snitching---i wouldnt' recommend it because like you alluded to, it would bring your account up on the T&S screen. The biggest points giver is 1)verified paypal acct 2)consistent IP address that matches your location and 3)acting like you have never been on ebay before

The third one simply means you have to have a mindset that you are new to ebay---DONT go in there and start selling the first day!!!

This is what I do....I pick a hobby for each account...i.e. stamps for one account and i start before registering by looking at different stamps---i may look around --- read about how to register an account ,etc and i may not even register that day---the next day, I come back, find an auction i really like (related to stamps) and then click bid---of course it comes up to register for an account...well, i'm a new ebayer, right, so I want to make sure its secure...so i might read some more on the ebay site about how secure it is, etc...then i regsiter and place my bid, etc....it might be a week before i finally list something---but that first week should revolve around look for stamps

I've had countless accounts that have never been suspended for abusing ebay, etc ---- they usually last 2-3 months before they get VEROed -- and then it is just a warning---2-3 months later i get the 7 day suspension.
