They might not do it to the first payment if you are a new seller

but if you have over 20 feed backs and dsr's then no payment hold

paypal can hold when ever they feel like. most of it is triggered on new accounts or accounts that have ot been used for a while and started up again.

the 20 feedback and dsr thing is not true either. people like to think that solves it but TIME is the only factor that will solve it as well as being a good seller on ebay.

paypal does a review every 35 days when the 21 day hold is placed on your account. if they feel it is adequate to release the 21 day hold on your account they do. the more feedback and transactions you have that are in good standing help you out but it isnt set on any given number such as 20 feedback and dsr ratings.

i know this for a fact b/c i have an account 1 month old, with over 40 feedback all positive, no disputes and i still have the 21 day hold on my account.

thanks
steve

i feel you dont even have to wait 21 days

1-keep asking buyer to leave feedback
2-upload tracking details

that way you will get your money in a couple of days

Wrong, very very very wrong. Be careful of your advice. For a period last year that was happening but not now.

paypal hold funds on ANY account.

Whilst there are certain 'hints' where paypal say they will not hold funds, they do.

Bottom line: use paypal and expect problems.

Yes and they will, have 4 stealths epig/pisspal 2-active and 2-not active and the 2 active have holds 1 is 100 plus days 38+ feeds @100% and DRS are very good but they hold some for a few days and others for a couple weeks other account 60 days 6 items sold no feedback (begged 3 times and nothing from buyers) and they held the first payment released 2-3-4 and held 5-6 all items delivered in 2-3 business days w/tracking and it's still at the whims of PP.

You need more accounts to spread yourself and your products out to create a cash flow that will cover the holds until they pay

Bottom line is, if you use paypal expect holds no matter how old the account is, what you sold, the price of the product, etc. Is doesn't matter. There used to be guidelines you could follow to make sure funds get released, but these no longer apply.

Paypal doesnt even follow their own policy to "release funds 3 days after item delivers or immediately after positive feedback is left" which in my opinion says alot about the integrity of paypal as a corporation.
