New seller Limits - argh!
Hi All
I have recently set up an ebay shop selling baby clothes and prams etc.
I thought I would go about it as a proper business as thats what it is to me.
I registered as a business seller, had my paypal account verified and paid for a basic shop. I then spent around £1k frm wholesale on baby clothes etc.
I started listing and soon reached new seller limits. I wont bore you with the whole long story, but after several email and telephone conversations I managed to get it raised to 150 items (still not enough for what I bought).
Trouble is they dont tell you this when you start out, they just land it on you from a great height!
So is essence there really is no point opening a shop to start with as you have to be able to have 75 listings to make it pay for itself, which when you buy in multiples and have a 150 item limit, is impossible.
It got me thinking, surely Ebay arent allowed to do this? Maybe I am just being stupid, but are they not in breach of competition law?
Because it makes it an unfair market place.
I would welcome any thoughts and whether the arguement is worth having with Ebay - has anyone tried????
