Default eCheck clears and creates negative balance??

Hello everybody!

I received 3 payments on one of my accounts that I actually use PP on.

Payment 1: $415 = instant xfer (21 day hold)
Payment 2: $436 = instant xfer (21 day hold)
Payment 3: $540 = echeck

All was fine until the eCheck payment cleared. The day it cleared, my PayPal account was negative for the same amount of the guy's eCheck (less PP fees).

Is this normal?

Here is a pic of my PayPal home screen:

Now if I want to make a payment for an eBay item, I have to pay the 500 bucks plus the cost for the item!!

This def isn't normal, why would you be charged the same total that you're sending to the seller? I would try to get this fixed, paypal has even started charging sellers for issuing refunds now, didn't know this until they charged me, which is insane.

Thanks for the answer, but I figured it out.

For some reason, the check came in a British Pound balance??????

So I had to convert it to USD, then it went into my pending balance with the other $800.

It looks all-ok now... hopefully.

They charge for refunds? How much?

I hardly use paypal, and I refunded around $20 i believe, got hit with 80 cents fee, not much, but that's not the point, why in the world am i being charged for a refund. That Is free money for paypal, and when you think of the millions of users they have, that 80 cents adds up to big money quickly.
