For me the issue is not expense but if the goods will come thro' Customs in a timely manner

Do you want to give an idea of the charge?

Mind, I would prefer a split delivery

No problem,

The shipping price included EMS shipping, but you know sometimes the seller wants to ship DHL because they can save some money but be wanted to charge me around $42 extra to ship EMS I didnt even ask for a split delivery.....

But tonight finally after some back and forth with this friendly and nice Chinese supplier he gave in.

The next email I got was a tracking number with ems shipping at NO extra cost...WTF?

The supplier is nice and by nature I'm a great person(Sometimes maybe too nice) so maybe he thought I was a sucker.....lol

I'll see if I'm more aggressive on my next merchandise venture

Not aggressive with your Chinese supplier but assertive. They tend to accept assertion better than aggression.

This all depends on weight. Heavy packages are done best through DHL, cost wise.

From my experience DHL is more expensive as its a lot faster than EMS. I usually get my packages in 3 days after being shipped.

Gamefreak is right, normally DHL will be fasther EMS for sure.

It is useless to compare the two shipping methods too much,as we know, they have the different advantages .It depend on your demand and the style of your goods.

If you think the cost is high, you can find more suppliers to compare. And then everything is clear

from my experience for about 3 years from China to USA (southeast):

Anything above 40lbs will always be cheaper with DHL than EMS.
Out of about 300 shipments from china to me via dhl only 1 has had issues...and its currently happening...clearance delay @ cincinnati hub...so that pkg may be seized
From about 30 pkgs sent via EMS twice 1 pcs of samples (Apple related both items) were seized by customs

Pros and cons of both:
dhl is indeed quicker..ONCE it leaves Hong Kong...if your supplier isnt in mainland china..prepare to wait 2-3 days for packages to make it to mainland for dhl to ship....
there have been instances where dhl in china will get super strict and wont let stuff go out for days/weeks sometimes
the one great benefit about dhl is once you have tracking and it arrives to you for delivery you can paste a note on your door authorizing delivery outside your door...you will never have to see the dhl delivery person ever....ems/usps wont do this...must sign in person....ems transit is between 5-7 days

Nice and useful comment!

It looks you have a very good lucky for your goods entering into usa without problem, out of 300 shippment have only 1 got problem. This really shock us a lot ,as even i think i am an expert for this area but i still have 5 packages got problem from out of 440 shippments to usa from china by DHL.

I think it is diffcult to send the goods into uk as olympic 2012 is coming ,so the security system will more strickly like beijing 2008
