Careful on that - a negative bank account can come to effect your credit history - what's the amount we talking bout? | Absolutely correct on that. I had a balance on an old bank account and couldnt get any bank account for years until I paid it off. My credit was already hosed for something else but I am sure it would have affected it.
just pay that bank off in small payments. it will benefit you in the long run for sure. as soon as you pay it off you can get a new account.
