Default Paypal under review because of possible scammers buying items

I had a couple of buyers purchase items from me and both the payments which I received went under review.

I am pretty sure they are scammers as their phone number is invalid and have 0 feedbacks.

My question is will this cause problem for my PayPal account? I mean I had no control over who can buy from me and even though I had set the buyer requirement they still purchased the items as they had PayPal account.

What is the best thing to do, wait until the review is over *it has been more than 24hours*

or shall I go and issue a refund on both payments? Also I would have issued refund instantly but I just didn't want it to look bad on my account.

Please advice

Don't post anything out - PP is working for you this time - it shouldn't affect your account at all. Give it another 24 hours them email PP and ask them if you should post out.

What do you think is attracting scammers to your sales? Is it what you are selling?

I have no idea, a lot of people sell of the same item. I have been doing it for a while just one of those things. I won't post anything out, but what if I just go ahead and issue refund on both?

Also is there anyway I could have a setting where I do not take paypal payments from new members and 0 feedback people?

Thanks

I don't think so. You can block buyers who have bad feedback, but no feedback is different right? Or else ebay would lose a lot of new buyers.

Exactly, which makes it very difficult :(

Anyone suggest I should just issue refunds?

Wait what if they're e-checks? They can appear with a red flag but may not be any danger at all. I don't think many new buyers would have much on their account anyway.

Otherwise you could wait 1 more day, yesterday was a holiday, maybe something happened.

No it is not an e-chek, I don't mind waiting I just don't want to have my account closed because they think I am of risk to them (PayPal)

I am based in the UK so don't know if the 4th July would have affected me as well?

Oh I don't know. Have you tried contacting them? I can see why that may be a risk. Although buyers getting mad for not receiving an item could also pose risks. They'll get mad over anything.

When you say cases, you don't mean an actual ebay/paypal case right?

It shouldn't cause a problem as long as the buyer doesn't complain.

Relax, let PayPal take care of it. While they are revewing the payments don't do anything until PayPal have come back with a response. Don't just go ahead and refund to try and get back in the shadows. You'll be fine, it takes a lot more than a couple of fraudulent buyers to limit your PayPal account.
