paypal changes on non stealth account?

Hi

I have a non-stealth acct that I buy and sell on. Usually I make purchases with the pp acc that went throught the 2 small deposits verify process. This was the norm until recently, I was only given the option of an echeque.
I was shown a method to change this by adding a cc - (which would be the long card number) - and they then take £1 from the bank acc, then refund it into pp.

Where has this come from? Is this a new procedure - as I said, I 100% used this pp acc in normal verification standing to make purchases without sending echeques.

Is this a new level of security?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Echeques come into play if the backup card has expired.

Nothing new that I can think of right now.

the only card added is a debit card for verification - they want this card's long number now for cc payments I think, the card is due to expire though, so they may want a totally different card's details.

If this happens to a stealth - will the stealth vccs's help against the avs check, as that is what they stated on the page.

pp will take £1 - from cc and use this to AVS check your details - this will then be refunded into pp.
