Default An important Message about your paypal account

I have noticed on about 3-5 accounts that are OLD..meaning more than 4 to 5 months old, are now randoming getting these holds added... We're writing to let you know about a change to your PayPal account.

Starting 7/28/2011, money from payments you receive will be placed in a pending balance for up to 21 days. By doing this, we're making sure that there's enough money in your account to cover potential refunds or claims.

My accounts are in good standing, and meet all "standard" or better requirements with ebay, with no excessive cases etc...

This has been increasing for about 1 week.

you have accounts that are only a few months old and have "no excessive cases" ?

You should have no cases for something that new. what are your DSR 1's and 2's like on your dashboard?

You can have that all day long but what really matters is the number of 1's and 2's you have listed on your dashboard.

you also have a case listing of how many cases you have had opened. you only get a couple and then you are limited/suspended these days.

How may 1's and 2's and how many open and closed cases?

I had this recently, the whole "From now on, payments will be held." And it only lasted for about 2 weeks. I guess "From now on" means something different to everyone.

Just seems to have been increasing, and as someone who is the 10-20 account threshold, it definitely has increased. Was curious what others were experiencing. To see if it was a trend, or whatever. I'm taking a bit of a break, it's time for a trip to the Caribbean, will let it all settle down and come back hard at the end of august.

It is a big trend - has to do with what you sell, how much, how the account is created, prior activity, etc. Trial and error.

i have this with 100% feedback. 5.0 dsr's. the hold is removed if they leave positive feedback or else it gets removed within 4-6 days. only becomes a pain when using purchases that need to be released from holds.
