Default Doesn't want to pay through eBay

Hey guys

I just sold my laptop for £150 to a member with
no feedback and this morning I get an email saying he
doesn't want to pay through eBay because he had a
bad experience in the past.
So he wants to pay direct into paypal.

If he is fraudster how will this effect me and should I
give him my details.
Many thanks

Murray

There is absolutely no good reason why he can't pay you the proper way with PayPal through eBay.

I would advise not completing this transaction.

No, just form another PP and give him the email. Or find one that's still working with some age on it and take his money as a clean money request. transfer as soon as you can in to the bank.

It does not sound too healthy to me.... no feedback and already asking to pay via alternative methods.

Your buyer has already stated they have had a bad experience with pp... you have to ask yourself if that is the case, how comes they have a new account!

150 squid is too much money too loose out on. Please dont get ripped off and if you do decide to go ahead with it, make sure you arz is covered with a no entry sign

When it's a money request or for services without a merchandise receipt, if the sender pulls a char geback they will loose the claim with the card company. It takes time but you eventually win. PP is different outside EB.

Plus an unrelated PP makes for a safer transaction as long as the the money clears the bank. Plus you can take your time shipping it so to get your money (no feedback extortion).

You can always get your neg feedback changed back with a non payment transaction if it happens at EB.

^ I wanted to say that too but my brain not working proper today.

If you do do it that way then as above mentioned, you are covered by pp as a seller.

Yes, take your time to send out - maybe once money has cleared into your bank and send via tracking. Maybe mention to buyer you will ship once the money has cleared into your bank and give them an ETA.

Your 2 options are do what TGM2 said or do what Hercules said - either way be cautious.

1. Cancel transaction.
2. FORWARD EMAIL TO eBAY (IMPORTANT)

Thanks guys,
Fast and informative... naa really its forums like this and members
like you that make the internet a better place!
I think im gonna pass on this one, if I can take any more
of your time I just have one more question.

How do I relist the laptop now its not sold, I can't relist it
manually because eBay tells me that ive not been a member long
enough to list two of the same items.
Is there anyway of releasing the original listing?

Thanks again guys.

try resolve a problem option, on dropdown by sold listing, on my ebay, cancel the transaction with buyer, that way you get your listing fees back too. It might release it, never come across that one, all I can think of, other than wait - how long have you been a member? oh and thanks for saying that about forum - I agree.....

I would not touch it!

Good scammers will send you an email that looks like you got a payment from PayPal, when in fact you do not.

I have had this attempted on me three times previous.

Stay away, far far away.
