Is anyone having any luck listing the 10 listings ebay allows before faxing in the merchant statement.
I am using auctiva and I uncheck the paypal area and then try to upload and the auction fails.
I would like ebay to initiate the fax and also get those 10 free listings hassle free.

No, my experience is the same as yours. If you don't check the paypal button AND put in a valid paypal email address, you auctions will not list with Auctiva! That's been my experience for the last 3 weeks on multiple accounts.
You have to accept paypal and a merchant account and you will be able to list 10 items. After that they will fail. You can't list 10 with only a merchant account. I have tried many different combinations to list more effectively.
Here is a example.
You can add an auction checkout button in your listings linking to your merchant account. But in the listing you have to accept paypal for eBay to list the item and you can not check the box that's states you accept credit cards else your of bound by the rule of 10 listings.
you can also go to your ebay page and disable the ebay checkout button. that way the buyer has to wait for your invoice from auctiva, and there won't be a "pay now button" after the auction has ended. i wouldn't even check the merchant account box in the auctiva listing.
Can you put in an email address that is not associated with paypal in the paypal payment box on before you list and turn off the eGay checkout on the listing? Will the listing go thru at that point?
i think ebay requires you to have the same email for your ebay account to be the same one you take payments for. and even if you did put in a different paypal email address people could still make a payment to that email address even if a paypal account is not actually set up.
i think it is automatically filled in with that email address by ebay. after the auction people will see that address and send payments to it even if it is not actually set up though.
