Default ebay scams

I have run some auctions on ebay and I bid from one of my accounts on my own auction on another account to win just to see if ebay would suspend me for shill bidding.

Now I received 2 emails from 2 different people claiming that they are the owners of the listing that I bid on ebay and are offering me second chance.
As both accounts are mine I know that they are scammers.

Here are their emails I will remove information about the auctions.

First email:

Dear xxxxx, I am (sellers username )(laura95g@gmail.com) on eBay, i recently listed an auction titled: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx- item#: 260xxxxxxx05 and I have just been contacted by the eBay staff who informed me that the winner of this item got rejected due to security reasons. Your last auctioned bid of AU $170.00 prior to being outbided is taken into consideration as eBay policy automatically proclaims you to be the winner by default. Nevertheless, I need your agreement on this and your details so I may contact eBay to confirm your winning position otherwise I will have to relist the item.
If interested do reply with your details such as name and address.
Thank you
ps: i will support the shipping costs, so the total for you to pay would be AU $170.00

Second email:

Dear xxxx I'm the seller of item#:260xxxxxxx05 and as a valued bidder on my item where you were outbid by another buyer I would like to offer you a second chance offer for the item at your highest bid which was $170.00

If you would like to go ahead and purhcase the item please email me your details and we can arrange payment and delivery.

Looking forward to your reply.

What do you think about these scammers.

That's quite amusing.
What type of product were you selling? Relatively high risk my any chance?

HI: I'm wondering how they have access to your private email address?
Also, I thought that Ebay used the **b****9* as buyer over $100 listings?
UNless it depends on category??
Could this be ebay employees accessing data anyone think?

I just received another email from another person claiming it is their auction.

What make me think is the way they email me.

I know they can email me thru ebay and I would receive emails into my My ebay messages but no I receive them into my email account directlly.

How do they get my email address outside of ebay is what I would like to know.

Must be some ebay scam as they are the only ones that have my email address.

What do you think

If you have used the contact seller/buyer box and not ticked 'hide my email' address box, then the other party can find out your email address. Trust me, I had a lot of trouble because I did not tick one miserable box.

Yeah you'd think the monkeys at eBay would have at least enabled that hide your email thing by default unless you checked that you WANT to show them.

the intresting thing is that I have not contacted anyone at all or emailed them.

the only people I contact are the ones that win the auctions and I email them payment details.
