Default Need a credit card to print shipping label?

Hello, I just tried printing a shipping label on a relatively new stealth account. I need to ship something I sold on eBay:

The account doesn't have enough available funds to cover the cost of the label, but there are plenty pending funds.

The PP account is bank verified, but no CC is attached to it.

When I try to print the shipping label through Paypal, I get a message telling me that to print labels I must have a positive paypal balance and a credit card. "In order to send your package, you must have a positive PayPal account balance and a credit card"

Does this actually mean that I must have a credit card attached to the account, or just that I must either have enough available balance to cover it or a credit card which can be charged for the cost?

I see it clearly says AND a credit card, but who knows with Paypal. There's no real reason why they should need a CC from me since it's a Canadian PP which gets verified with a bank account.

I tried searching but couldn't find an answer, thanks in advance!

You are going to have to ether add a credit card since your available balance is $0, or else you are going to have to physically go to USPS and pay and get confirmation and then update on paypal.

you need funds in pay pal to pay for postage, sometimes you can pay with the pending money from that transaction but sometimes it dont let you

add a credit card if you got one!

if you have not got one you will need to pay for shipping out of your own pocket!

then get the money back when the payment is released for pay pals greedy grasp!

Thanks for the answers and I know that I can always go to the post office and pay that way, but I wanted to know if I will always have to do it this way until I attach a credit card, or if once I have enough balance to cover the shipping cost in my Paypal that it will just let me do it the normal way?

Once you first few purchases are cleared from the pending state, then you should be good to go.

Basically, seems like Hrad wants to know if adding the credit card will solve his problem i.e. what if he adds the credit card and in spite of having a positive PENDING balance, pp will not let him print shipping label.

Now, I have not had this issue in a long time but I recall 2 years ago when I had pending balance, I already had a cc on file and pp said XYZ dollars will be charged to your credit card - click continue if you agree...something like that - hope info is useful in your decision.

As a sidenote, adding a cc will CONFIRM your account (bank is VERIFY) so pp wants you to do both...i suspect pp might want to test your cc out by doing a charge and asking for expuse numbers so heads up on that.

Alright so basically once I get more funds available I should be able to print them directly with Paypal is what most of you seem to be saying. RSot I will keep that in mind, I thought verify = confirm 0.o

Anyways, I'll wait till I get a few more $$ in there and then see if it works or not.
Thanks for the help

yeah you need funds available to print postage

don`t know why that happened with me but it has happened about 3 times

for example i had about £7gbp available in paypal and about £100gbp pending and i printed off the labels and i still had 7gbp available and the £100gbp went down to £90

but other times it would use the available balance then it would not let me print when it had gone

Yeah problem solved, I got enough available funds in there to cover the cost of the postage and I didn't have to add a credit card, it just let me print. Now the amount that I paid for the postage is released from the pending balance and is now available.
I don't get why they don't just let you pay the shipping from the pending balance, but w/e

Thanks for all the help guys

so you printed postage even though there was no available funds/only pending funds

or did you have available funds to pay for postage and if you did why did you post a thread on it saying you tried but failed?

I had to have available funds in order to print postage. I didn't have them at first, that's why I made this thread - to find out if transferring funds into there would let me print the shipping label or if I'd need a credit card anyways.
It was a bit risky because there was a slight chance my accounts would get linked, so I didn't want to transfer money from one account to another just to find out that I had to add a credit card to the account anyways.

So the moral of the story is: you need available funds to print postage. If you don't have enough, Paypal will tell you to add a credit card.

According to the new eBay policy, new accounts that have sold an item will have a hold placed on the funds until delivery confirmation is shown via the tracking number. They also state that shipping funds will be released to speed the process up.

So if the item you sold is thru eBay, dont use click N ship thru PayPal, do it thru eBay instead.

quote from eb ay on a new account after selling 1st item

"If you purchase postage labels through eBay or PayPal, the cost of the purchase will be released from your pending balance shortly after purchase"

so i think that you can pay for the postage label with available funds then they release the same amount to your available funds

i new this was happening when my available balance stayed the same after printing shipping labels
