Default Shipping charges (expensive)

So i've got two expensive shipments, but i'm still in denial.

Has anyone ever shipped to Brazil or United Kingdom before?

If so how much did it cost you? I've just calculated costs on UPS.com

and it looks like its around the $200 mark for Brazil and around $150 for UK, this can't be right? or is it?

at those prices im losing money

thanks

Look for FedEx International, just as good and cheaper. Never ship USPS / Postal Service except for small things you don't care to lose.

It's costed me $50 to ship a (less than 1 lbs) USB device before to Malaysia.
It's costed me $40 to ship the same item to the UK..
I've also sent a 50 lbs package to the UK and it wound up being $150-170 via FedEx.

The heavier and also bigger the item, the more it's gonna cost.. I find UPS to be a little overkill. How big / heavy is your package?

I never sell my products to international customers because of the high cost of shipping fees.
I just sometimes wonder how does china ebay users ship international for such a low price

I wonder the same thing.

"How big / heavy is your package? "

About 5 lbs, also I use my own packaging.

I think they get a shipping port discount supported from the government. Everytime I get something from CHINA, it's been stamped or approved with a port # or something which I highly suspect is their authorized discount. I take it as a FREE pass to just ship anything out of the country (especially something of small weight), and that beats any economy in the world to make a profit. Why else do you think they are ahead of everyone else?

Yeah, only sell if you can afford to. My products I can afford to ship all over the world though, gotta go where the money is..

If your taking a loss, best go through with it. Just be sure of your costs for the future, list them up in case and bite the bullet for now.

I am able to ship anywhere in the world UPS/Fedex at very low prices. I have been using the same International shipper for years, and able to ship UPS / FedEx at rock bottom prices.

BTW China sellers are able to ship so cheaply because of volume. They get the best rates from UPS etc....

Yeh I ship packets everyday from china, the way it works is we go through agents who receive 1000s of packages daily to ship out, so they can offer us as sellers the best rates available.

To give you an idea i shipped around 8kg to australia today using HK EMS for around $55USD.

EMS is also usually much cheaper than DHL/Fedex and packages get checked a lot less at customs. In terms of time frames maybe only slightly slower, but realiable..

Yeah, your right beneysz. I can ship from Asia to anywhere in the states for around 7.50 per kilo, (2.2 lbs) based on 10 kilo minimum. Lower weight more it cost. The rest of the world is slightly higher. I keep my own inventory, so this is not a problem. In five years I had only one package held at customs. i can also pick up from Airport, and cut out costs for UPS/FedEx completely...
