Default New Ebay Policy??

Ok i have tried creating two different ebay accounts and each time it is asking for a phone verification when i try to list an item for the first time on a new account.

I always had a choice to verify by Credit card and took that option. Is this just me or ???

Please any help

You need to verify your identity by entering the 4 digit code played by an automated message or by adding a credit card when you're setting up your seller account (aka listing your first item) since god knows what time. It might've been different for Australian sellers, but it has always been this way for US/CA sellers

That sounds very similar to opening a gmail acount, asking for a phone number for verification, and sending a 4 digit number.
Personally I don't trust gmail/google as to the amount of information they collect from you, plus the more information they ask for.

Yes you do. But its as easy as Pie! I always use Vumber. first 14 days free. Just set your account up with vumber, then ebay, then cancel your vumber so you don't forget. Then if ebay ever needs to call you again just change your number. Never had a problem doing it this way.

So many US members never pay attention to flags on this forum and confuse people. Please stop, it is extremely annoying and pathetic.
