Default What will happen if I close the bank account linked to my paypal account?

I have an ebay account which functions well and I already have hundreds of positive feedbacks. Now because I have to move to another country and I have to close the bank account linked to the paypal. My question is that

1) Does my bank alert paypal when I close my account?

2) If my bank account was closed and paypal finds it out, whether I am still able to continue selling stuff on ebay? I always pay paypal and ebay fees with paypal balance.

3) I heard that ebay Account is not transferrable. But is that a rigid rule or people can negotiate about it?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums.

1. No alert from your bank.
2. That really depends on what you are selling and your account's "solidness" on pp radar. If you always pay with pp balance then your bank never comes into play.
3. I figure you can prob negotiate it but you will need a LOT of documentation...very risky.

Gave you the opinion - if you TRY to use a closed bank, you will fail since pp will know. Just closing the bank itself does nothing since the bank keeps your info CONFIDENTIAL. There is no automated alert or whatever - only if pp decides to go into your bank account for withdrawal or deposit. /end

I actually had 2 bank accounts attached to a paypal account that were closed for over a year and the account was still verified. So I take it they don't notify anybody. They just can't get your money from your bank when you go negative

I have actually done this, and three months down the line, i used my paypal account and the bank account number was still linked through it, so i 'accidently' spent over $400 from someones bank account..

Closed a bank account on a limited PP and ebay. Closed gmail account/google voice account. Never had a problem or heard anything since.
