I know these do not work with stealth accounts anymore. Has anyone tried them with variations of their own name or different spellings or leaving off letters and had the prepaid cards refuse the deposits.

Once I tried to apply for Netspend. They want my SS. No, thank you, the whole idea of prepaid cards is not to give them any sensitive info like that.

Mango works with name variations (for me at least) and I have a pretty unique name. I have 3 accounts open with them (the max you are allowed to have open) and they all have variations of my name and so far, have worked.
Prepaid cards work and you have to give them your ssn in the us because they give you alot of card benefits like that of your regular debit/credit card. Giftcards like vanilla visa don't let you do a claim if your card was used or something else. Some prepaid cards won't let you use name variation like rushcard. So far netspend, greendot, walmart, and a few others work.
